2010 Power Snooker Masters Trophy
The 2010 Power Snooker was a cue sports tournament. The inaugural event took place on the 30 October 2010 at The O2, London, United Kingdom. Ronnie O'Sullivan defeated Ding Junhui 572–258 on points in a 30 minute time based unlimited racks final. Venue, entrants and prize money Power Snooker's inaugural tournament was a one-day event hosted at The O2 in London, held on 30 October 2010. Each match lasted a total of 30 minutes with the balls constantly being reracked at the end of each rack until the 30 minutes was up. Two thousand spectators watched the eight hours of tournament play in the indigO2 sub-venue. The players in the inaugural tournament competed for a £35,000 first prize. O'Sullivan was the first player to be confirmed as participating in the inaugural tournament, which was announced during the official launch. The O2
The O2 is a large entertainment district on the Greenwich peninsula in South East London, England, including an indoor arena, a music club, a Cineworld cinema, an exhibition space, piazzas, bars, and restaurants. It was built largely within the former Millennium Dome, a large dome-shaped canopy built to house an exhibition celebrating the turn of the third millennium; consequently ''The Dome'' remains a name in common usage for the venue. Neil Robertson
Neil Robertson (born 11 February 1982) is an Australian professional snooker player who is a former world champion and former world number one. The only Australian to have won a ranking event, he is also the only player from outside the United Kingdom to have completed snooker's Triple Crown, having won the World Championship in 2010, the Masters in 2012 and 2022, and the UK Championship in 2013, 2015 and 2020. He has claimed a career total of 23 ranking titles, having won at least one professional tournament every year since 2006. A prolific break-builder, Robertson has compiled more than 850 century breaks in professional competition, including five maximum breaks. He is the fourth player in professional snooker history to reach the 800-century mark, after Ronnie O'Sullivan, John Higgins and Judd Trump. ITV4
ITV4 is a Television in the United Kingdom, British free-to-air television channel which was launched on 1 November 2005. It is owned by ITV Digital Channels, a division of ITV plc, and is part of the ITV (TV network), ITV network. 2005 UK Championship (snooker)
The 2005 UK Championship (called the 2005 Travis Perkins UK Championship for sponsorship purposes) was a professional snooker tournament and the 2005 edition of the UK Championship. It was held at the Barbican Centre in York, North Yorkshire, England from 5 to 18 December 2005. The competition was the second of six World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association ranking events in the 2005–06 snooker season the first of the three Triple Crown events and the tournament's 29th edition. It was broadcast in the United Kingdom and Europe on the BBC and Eurosport. The defending champion was Stephen Maguire, who had won the previous year's event with a 10–1 win over David Gray in the final. 2009 World Snooker Championship
The 2009 World Snooker Championship (also referred to as the 2009 Betfred.com World Snooker Championship for the purposes of sponsorship) was a professional ranking snooker tournament that took place between 18 April and 4 May at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. This was the first time that the World Snooker Championship had been sponsored by Betfred. Ronnie O'Sullivan was the defending champion, but he lost in the second round 11–13 against Mark Allen. Mosconi Cup
The Mosconi Cup is an annual nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1994 between teams representing Europe and the United States. Named after American pool player Willie Mosconi, the event is comparable to the Ryder Cup in golf and the Weber Cup in bowling. Team composition and formats have varied over the years. Currently, each team has five playing members. Each team also has a captain and vice captain, who may be among the players, or may be non-playing additional members of the team. The teams compete over one team match, several doubles matches and singles matches, with the first team to win 11 matches claiming victory. WPA World Nine-ball Championship
The WPA World Nine-ball Championship is an annual professional nine-ball pool tournament contested since 1990. The championship is sanctioned by the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) and principally sponsored and organised by Matchroom Sport, who provide the event's official website branded as World Pool Championship. The championship is divided into men's, women's and wheelchair divisions. History In the summer of 1989, the World Pool-Billiard Association (WPA) began plans for a world championship tournament. Patricia Murphy (referee)
Patricia Murphy is an Irish snooker and pool referee, notable for becoming only the second woman to be a referee on the sports main tour. Also known as Patricia Roberts. Life Born in County Clare in Ireland, Murphy moved to the UK. She qualified in 2004 to referee on the professional snooker tour, and become the sport's second female referee, after Michaela Tabb in 1997. Her first official event was the 2005 UK Championship in York. Her television debut was the 2006 Junior Snooker Pot Black competition. Murphy was selected to be a referee at the 2009 World Pool Masters in Las Vegas. Michaela Tabb
Michaela Tabb (born 11 December 1967, in Bath, Somerset, England) is a Scottish snooker and pool referee. She established significant milestones for female officials in professional cue sports, beginning in pool, where she officiated at top tournaments such as the WPA World Nine-ball Championship and the Mosconi Cup. She qualified in 2001 to referee on the World Snooker Tour and went on to become the sport's highest profile female referee, officiating on tour for 14 years. She became the first woman to officiate at a professional ranking snooker tournament at the 2002 Welsh Open, and the first woman to referee a ranking tournament final at the 2007 Welsh Open. As of 2022, she is the only woman to have refereed the World Snooker Championship final, which she did in 2009 and 2012.
