2010 NLL Season

	2010 NLL Season The 2010 National Lacrosse League season, the 24th in the history of the NLL, began on January 8, 2010 and ended with the Championship game on May 15. Team movement After five seasons in San Jose, the Stealth announced shortly after the 2009 season ended that they would be relocating to Everett, Washington, approximately 30 miles north of Seattle. The Washington Stealth will play at the Comcast Arena. In addition it was announced on May 4, 2009 that after four seasons in Portland, the Lumberjax would no longer operate in that city and on July 7, 2009 the NLL held a dispersal draft for the Lumberjax players. On August 10, 2009 it was announced that after three seasons in New York City, the Titans franchise will be relocating to Orlando, Florida, where they will become the Orlando Titans. The NLL currently has fifteen teams: ten in the United States and five in Canada. The NLL ranks third in average attendance for pro indoor sports worldwide, behind only the NHL and NBA. Unlike other box lacrosse leagues which play in the summer, the NLL plays its games in the winter and spring, from December to June. Each year, the playoff teams battle for the National Lacrosse League Cup. The NLL has averaged between 8,900 and 10,700 spectators per game each year since 2004. The team was a member of the Eastern Division of the National Lacrosse League from 2006 to 2009. On August 11, 2009, the National Lacrosse League confirmed that the franchise would relocate to Orlando, Florida and become the Orlando Titans. In their three seasons in the NLL, the Titans alternated their home games between several sporting venues. During the 2007 season, the Titans played four of their eight home games at Madison Square Garden, and the other four at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum. 	Matt Vinc Matt Vinc (born June 9, 1982 in St. Catharines, Ontario) is a Canadian professional lacrosse goaltender who plays for the Buffalo Bandits in the National Lacrosse League and for the Peterborough Lakers of the Major Series Lacrosse. 	Portland Lumberjax The Portland LumberJax (sometimes referred to as the Jax) were a professional lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League (NLL), which started playing in the 2006 season and ended operations after the 2009 season. Angela Batinovich, the owner of the team, entered the league as the youngest owner of a professional sports franchise at the age of 24. Announced by the NLL on May 11, 2005, the LumberJax played their home games at the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. 	Everett National Lacrosse League Team The Washington Stealth were a member of the National Lacrosse League, the professional box lacrosse league of North America from the 2010 NLL season through the 2013 NLL season. They were based in Everett (part of the Seattle metropolitan area), with home games played at the 8,513-seat Comcast Arena at Everett. The team was previously known as the Albany Attack from 2000 until 2003, and later the San Jose Stealth from 2004 until 2009. On July 24, 2012, the Stealth and Comcast Arena announced that they had agreed to new terms on a five-year lease that will keep the team in Everett through the 2017 season.
