2010 Marikina Local Elections
Local elections were held in Marikina on May 10, 2010 as part of that year's Philippine general election. In this election, the mayoralty and vice mayoralty were contested, along with the sixteen seats in the city council and the city's two seats in the House of Representatives. Vice Mayor Marion Andres was defeated by the Liberal representative from the second district Del De Guzman. Andres's running mate, Thaddeus Santos Jr. was also defeated in his race with Jose Fabian Cadiz being elected as vice mayor. Miro Quimbo
Romero Federico Saenz Quimbo (born December 12, 1969), better known as Miro Quimbo, is a Filipino politician who served as the representative for Marikina's 2nd congressional district from 2010 to 2019. Education Quimbo spent the first two years of elementary school at the Sacred Heart College in Catbalogan, Samar. He transferred to the Marist School in Marikina where he eventually finished his elementary and secondary education. He enrolled at the University of the Philippines Diliman in Quezon City for his undergraduate and law degrees. At UP, he was one of the most recognized and accomplished student leaders. Xyza R. Diazen-Santos (born May 3, 1986) is a Filipina politician and teacher who served as a city councilor for Marikina's Second District from 2010 to 2019. Early life Diazen was born on May 3, 1986, in Marikina. She is the daughter of Rogelio and Evelyn Diazen. The 2010 Philippine House of Representatives elections were held on May 10, 2010, to elect members to the House of Representatives of the Philippines to serve in the 15th Congress of the Philippines from June 30, 2010, to June 30, 2013.
