Kakkonen
Kakkonen or II divisioona is the third level in the league system of Finnish football and comprises 36 Finnish football teams. The II divisioona was introduced in 1973 and in the mid-1990s became known as the Kakkonen (Finnish for 'Number Two'; sv, Tvåan). Sakari Tukiainen finished the season 2014 as the top goal scorer and setting a new league record with 40 goals for the Kakkonen. Petter Meyer finished the 2015 as the top goal scorer for GrIFK with 23 goals. League structure For the 2012 season the format of the Kakkonen has been changed with the league divided in 4 groups of 10 teams, each representing a geographical area. Every club plays each of the others in the same group three times. Clubs gain three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss. The group winners may win promotion to Ykkönen while two bottom clubs of each group and weakest 8th ranked club will be relegated to Kolmonen. PEPO Lappeenranta (abbreviated PEPO) is a football club from Lappeenranta in Finland. The club was formed in 1958 and their home ground is at the Kimpinen Sports Centre. The men's first team currently plays in the Ykkönen (Second Division). The chairman of PEPO is Kari Suninen and the men's first team is managed by Janne Muhli. History PEPO's inaugural meeting was held at the Lavola School in Lappee municipality on 12 November 1958. The name of the club was chosen as Uus-Lavolan Peli-Pojat at the first annual general meeting of the club held on 30 November 1958. The first official match played by the club was at the Vanha kenttä against Lauritsalan Pallokerho on 10 May 1959. FC Jazz is a football club from Pori, Finland. It plays in the Finnish third tier Kakkonen. It was invented in 1934. FC Jazz has won two Finnish championships ( 1993 & 1996 ). History PPT 1934–1991 FC Jazz was established in 1934 as Porin Pallo-Toverit (PPT for short) by 18 young men who had previously played football in the local sports club Pyrintö. Musan Salama
Musan Salama (acronym MuSa) is a football club based in Pori, Finland, currently playing in the Finnish second tier Kakkonen. It was founded in 1960 in the Musa suburb of Pori. Literally, the name of the club means the ″Lightning of Musa″. Musan Salama has mostly played in the Finnish third or fourth levels. In 1999–2001 MuSa made a three-year spell to the second tier Ykkönen, but was relegated after the 2001 season. In 2016 MuSa made it to the promotion play-offs losing to the Helsinki side Gnistan on penalties. Finally, in 2018 MuSa achieved promotion back to the second tier Ykkönen by defeating Kokkola based side GBK in the finals of the promotion playoffs on penalties. The club was formed in 1946 and the main activities covered are football (soccer), football and Team handball, handball with large junior sections in both disciplines. Åbo IFK (or ÅIFK for short) is a sports club from Turku, Finland. The club was founded in 1908, and originally represented the Swedish-speaking minority of Turku/Åbo. Background The greatest successes of ÅIFK have come in football where it has won three Finnish championship titles, in 1910, 1920 and 1924. Lohjan Pallo (abbreviated LoPa) is a football club from Lohja, Finland. The club was formed in 1966 and their home ground is at the Harjun urheilukenttä. The men's first team currently plays in the Kakkonen (Second Division). The chairman is Risto Tuomanen. History LoPa were promoted to the Kolmonen in 1976 and the club remained at this level until 1991 when they progressed to the Kakkonen (Second Division), the third tier of the Finnish football system.
