2010 Insight Bowl
The 2010 Insight Bowl was the 22nd edition of the college football bowl game, played at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Arizona on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. It featured the Missouri Tigers from the Big 12 Conference versus the Iowa Hawkeyes from the Big Ten Conference. Teams This was the first meeting of the teams since 1910, when Missouri refused to take the field if Archie Alexander, the black starting tackle for Iowa travelled to Columbia. Prior to this game, Iowa and Missouri had previously met 12 times, all coming between 1892 and 1910, with Missouri holding a 7–5 lead in the series. Sun Devil Stadium
Sun Devil Stadium is an outdoor college football stadium in the southwestern United States, on the campus of Arizona State University (ASU) in Tempe, Arizona. It is home to the ASU Sun Devils football team of the Pac-12 Conference. 2010–11 NCAA Football Bowl Games
The 2010–11 NCAA football bowl games concluded the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season and included 35 team-competitive bowl games and four all-star games. The games began play with three bowls on December 18, 2010 and included the 2011 BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona played on January 10 at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Michael Egnew
Michael Egnew (born November 1, 1989) is a former American football tight end. He played college football for the University of Missouri, where he was a consensus All-American tight end. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft. He has been a member of the Detroit Lions. Early years Egnew was born in Lubbock, Texas. Blaine Williamson Gabbert (born October 15, 1989) is an American football quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). Henry Josey (born September 25, 1991) is a former American football running back. He was most recently a member of the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Missouri. Early years Josey is from Angleton, Texas. His father, Henry Neal, set a national high school record in the 100-meter dash in 1990. Josey attended Angleton High School, where he began his football career as a linebacker in 2007. The Guaranteed Rate Bowl is an annual college football bowl game that has been played in the state of Arizona since 1989. Played as the Copper Bowl from inception through 1996, it was known as the Insight.com Bowl from 1997 through 2001, then the Insight Bowl from 2002 through 2011, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl for 2012 and 2013, and the Cactus Bowl for the 2014 through 2017 seasons. In 2018 and 2019, the game was known as the Cheez-It Bowl. In 2020, Guaranteed Rate signed on as the title sponsor of the game, renaming it as the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
