German Television
Television in Germany began in Berlin on 22 March 1935, broadcasting for 90 minutes three times a week. It was home to the first public television station in the world, named ''Fernsehsender Paul Nipkow''. In 2000, the German television market had approximately 36.5 million television households, making it the largest television market in Europe. Nowadays, 95% of German households have at least one television receiver. All the main German TV channels are free-to-air. History In 1948 the British occupation forces allowed NWDR to broadcast television programmes for the British zone. Other regional networks also started to launch television in their own areas. Meanwhile, the GDR was launching its own television service, Deutscher Fernsehfunk (DFF), based on the Soviet Union, Soviet model. X Factor (Germany Season 1)
The first Season of X Factor was started in 2010. The auditions were held in April 2010. The first show started on 20 August 2010. The Judges are Sarah Connor (16-24), George Glueck (Groups) and Till Brönner (25+). There are four phases: 1. Auditions 2. Bootcamp 3. Judge's House 4. Live Shows Judge's House The 18 acts who reached the Judge's Houses *Brönner's acts (over 25): Anthony Thet, Denise Modjallal, Sven Merckel, Meral Al-Mer, Edita Abdieski and Alexander Knappe *Connor's acts (16-24): Pino Severino, Mati Gavriel, Hendrik Ehrenthal, Caprice Edwards, Marlon Bertzbach and Maximilian Brands *Gluek's acts (Groups): Drop-Dead-Dinky-Di, Big Soul, Urban Candy, LaFamille, Karma and Predestination Nine of the 18 acts were eliminated with the 9 remaining moving to the live shows, three from each category. ''heute'' (; German for ''today'') is a television news program on the German channel ZDF. The main program is broadcast at 19:00, and includes news, with an emphasis on political news from Germany, Europe and the world, plus 'mixed' news from cultural life or entertainment, and the sports news with an extra presenter. The weather forecast comes up about 19:22 after a break with commercials. For many years, the opening sequence of each broadcast featured an analogue clock, a signature element of the program. On July 19, 2021; the opening sequence switched to a digital clock along with updated graphics and music, along with a new anchor desk and set. Alphablocks
''Alphablocks'' is a British animated television programme for preschoolers that debuted on CBeebies on 25 January 2010. ''Alphablocks'' is designed to teach preschoolers to spell with the use of four families of animated blocks known as Alphablocks, who represent each of their letters referred to as Alphalings. The show is animated by Blue-Zoo and produced by Alphablocks Ltd for the BBC. Once the Alphablocks discover that whenever they make a word it comes to life, many adventures can happen. The Octonauts
''Octonauts'' is a children's television series, produced by Silvergate Media for the BBC channel CBeebies, and based on the children's books written by Vicki Wong and Michael C. Murphy. The show follows an underwater exploring crew made up of stylized anthropomorphic animals, a team of eight adventurers who live in an undersea base, the Octopod, from which they go on undersea adventures with the help of a fleet of aquatic vehicles. Although its technology is fictional, the exotic creatures and locations that the crew encounter are based on real marine animals in their natural habitats. The show's subject matter has been compared to that of ''Star Trek'' and '' Thunderbirds'' blended with Jacques Cousteau. The show was animated in Ireland by Brown Bag Films for its first four series. The show was renewed for a fifth series in 2018, with Canada's Mainframe Studios taking over animation work. Arte
Arte (; (), sometimes stylized in lowercase or uppercase in its logo) is a European public service channel dedicated to culture. It is made up of three separate companies: the Strasbourg-based European Economic Interest Grouping ARTE, plus two member companies acting as editorial and programme production centres, ARTE France in Paris (formerly known as La Sept) and ARTE Deutschland in Baden-Baden (a subsidiary of the two main public German TV networks ARD and ZDF). As an international joint venture (an EEIG), its programmes focus on audiences in both countries. Because of this, the channel has two audio tracks and two subtitle tracks, one each in French and German. 80% of Arte's programming is provided by its French and German subsidiaries, each making half of the programmes. ''Der letzte Bulle'' (''The Last Cop'') is a German television series that was first aired in 2010. The series is about a policeman from the 1980s put into a modern police department in Essen. Plot The show is set in Essen, in the center of the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. Mick Brisgau, a homicide detective who was shot in the head on duty in the late 1980s and was then in a coma for 20 years. The show starts when he awakes suddenly from the coma and is allowed to return to his old job at the homicide department. As an old-school macho cop, he doesn't know about modern technology such as cellphones or computers, or modern investigation methods. He tries to deal with the modern world in general, and homicide cases in particular, as if it was still the 1980s. ''Danni Lowinski'' is a German legal dramedy that premiered on Sat.1 on April 12, 2010, featuring Annette Frier as the eponymous character. The show was created by Marc Terjung, who also created the legal dramedy ''Edel & Starck'', and Benedikt Gollhardt. On May 19, 2010, Sat.1 renewed the show for a second season, which premiered on March 14, 2011. A third season was ordered in April 2011, set to premiere on February 6, 2012. All seasons are consisting of thirteen episodes each. The fourth season aired from 21 January to 22 April 2013.
