Rajko Grlić
Rajko Grlić (born 2 September 1947) is a Croatian film director, producer and screenwriter. He is a professor of film theory at Ohio University and artistic director of the Motovun Film Festival in Motovun, Croatia. Biography Rajko Grlić was born in 1947 in Zagreb, SR Croatia, FPR Yugoslavia. His father was Danko Grlić, famous Croatian philosopher. Grlić's (Gerlich) family by father's side came to Zagreb from Schwarzwald, Germany in the 19th century, while his mother Eva ( née Izrael) is from Jewish family of Sarajevo. He graduated from the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU) at the same time as Emir Kusturica, Serbian film director. During Croatian War of Independence Grlić moved to the USA. In 2017, Grlić has signed the Declaration on the Common Language of the Croats, Serbs, Bosniaks and Montenegrins. 2010 IAAF Continental Cup
The 1st IAAF Continental Cup was an international track and field sporting event held under the auspices of the International Association of Athletics Federations. Originally scheduled as the 11th IAAF World Cup in Athletics, it was renamed in 2008 when the IAAF revamped the competition format. It was held in Split, Croatia on 4–5 September 2010. The competition mascot was an anthropomorphic white seagull with a blue hat and scarf, named Marino. Designed by children from the Juraj Bonači educational centre, the mascot builds on the fact that Split is a coastal city. The attendance for the second day of the competition was about 25,000. Hanžeković Memorial ( hr, Hanžekovićev memorijal) is an athletics event at the Sportski Park Mladost athletic stadium in Zagreb, Croatia as part of the IAAF World Challenge Meetings. It was first organized in 1951. ''Hanžek'' (which is the popular name of meeting) was first held in 1951 as a local level meeting. Seven years later, in 1958, it became an international competition. From 1999 to 2009 the IAAF classified the Hanžeković Memorial among IAAF Grand Prix meetings and it gained IAAF World Challenge meeting status upon the inauguration of that series in 2010. The meeting got its name in memory of renowned Zagreb runner Boris Hanžeković. Donji Kraljevec
Donji Kraljevec ( hu, Murakirály) is a village and municipality in Međimurje County, Croatia. Geography and demographics In the 2011 census, the municipality had a population of 4,659. Of the entire population, a total of 4,578 people (98.3%) identified themselves as Croats. The village of Donji Kraljevec is located around 20 kilometres south-east of Čakovec, the county seat and largest city of Međimurje County, and just over 4 kilometres north-east of Prelog, the second largest city of the county. In the 2001 census, the village had a population of 1,694 and was also the largest village in the municipality. 2010 Speedway Grand Prix Of Croatia
The 2010 FIM Valvoline Croatian Speedway Grand Prix was the eighth race of the 2010 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on August 29 at the Stadium Milenium in Donji Kraljevec, Croatia. It was scheduled to take place on August 28. However, the meeting was delay because the track was deemed unsuitable by the FIM Jury due to adverse weather conditions. The event will be re-staged on the next day at 12pm. It was second Grand Prix meeting which was re-staged at Sunday, after 1997 Speedway Grand Prix of Germany. The first-ever Croatian Grand Prix was won by Greg Hancock from the United States, who beat British Chris Harris, World Champion Jason Crump and Fredrik Lindgren of Sweden in the Final. Umag
Umag (; it, Umago) is a coastal town in Istria, Croatia. Geography It is the westernmost town of Croatia, and it includes Bašanija, the westernmost point of Croatia. Population Umag has a population of 7,281, with a total municipal population of 13,467 (2011 census). Like many other towns in Istria, Umag has a multi-ethnic population.
