2010 I-League U19
The 2010 I-League U19 was the second edition of the I-League U19. The tournament was held in May 2010 in Phagwara, Kolkata and Goa with the I-League and I-League 2nd Division youth teams and academies. All teams played the other teams in their group once and the group winners (3 group winners) and second placed (3 second placed) played in two qualification groups. The winners qualifies for the final. The Sporting Clube de Goa won the edition of the youth league. Group stage The 14 participating teams were divided into three groups and played against each other. The group winner and the second placed made it to the next round. Group A was held in Goa, while Group B in Paghwara and Group C in Kolkata. Sporting Clube de Goa, simply known as Sporting Goa (also known by its abbreviation SCG), is an Indian professional football club based in Panaji, in the Indian state of Goa, that competes in Goa Professional League. Jagatjit Cotton & Textile Football Club (formerly known as JCT Mills FC; abbreviated as both JCT FC, or simply JCT) was an Indian professional football club based in Phagwara, Punjab. Founded in 1971, the club was sponsored by Jagatjit Cotton and Textile Mills under the leadership of Samir Thapar and participated in the National Football League which was later renamed I-League. They also participated in Punjab State Super Football League under licence from Punjab Football Association. The club was disbanded in 2011. East Bengal Ground
The East Bengal Ground, also known as East Bengal–Aryan Ground, is the home stadium of East Bengal and Aryan. The stadium has a capacity of 23,500 people. The Pune Football Club Academy was the youth team of Pune Football Club. They played in the I-League U19, the highest level of youth football in India. The team closed operations in 2016 and were purchased by Indian Super League side FC Pune City, and rebranded it as the FC Pune City Academy. History Pune had always operated a U19 and U17 youth team since their inception in 2007 but on 23 June 2011 it was announced that the club would open an Academy at the U20 level, thus becoming the first I-League team to do so.
