2010 Hawaii Bowl
The 2010 Sheraton Hawaii Bowl was the ninth edition of the college football bowl game. The game was played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu on Friday of Christmas Eve 2010, at 8 p.m. ET. The contest was televised live on ESPN and sponsored by Sheraton Hotels and Resorts. The game featured Tulsa of Conference USA versus Hawai'i of the Western Athletic Conference. Teams Hawai'i Warriors The game marked Hawai'i's 6th appearance in the Hawai'i Bowl since its inception in 2002. The invitation acceptance marked the earliest acceptance to a bowl game in the school's history. The 2010 Hawaii Warriors football team represented the University of Hawaii at Manoa in the 2010 college football season. The Warriors, led by third-year head coach Greg McMackin, were members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) and played their home games at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii. Shelley Smith (born 1958) is an American sports correspondent, who is currently a correspondent for ESPN's '' SportsCenter''. Smith joined ESPN in January 1997 after working part-time as a reporter for the network since 1993. A journalist and author of two books, Smith won a Sports Emmy in 1997 for her segment on Magic Johnson as part of an ESPN production on AIDS and Athletes. Previously, she was a writer/reporter for Sports Illustrated (1989–1997), Pacific Stars and Stripes in Tokyo, Japan (1982–84) and The San Francisco Examiner (1984-1987) where she won a William Randolph Hearst Award in 1986 for her series on Title IX in the Bay Area. The Hawaiʻi Bowl is a college football bowl game that has been played in the Honolulu, Hawaii area since 2002. The game was originally held at Aloha Stadium in Halawa, Hawaii, a suburb of Honolulu, before moving to the Clarence T. C. Ching Athletics Complex in 2022. The bowl is one of the post-season contests run by ESPN Events. Typically played on or near Christmas Eve, the bowl normally features a team from the Mountain West Conference, playing a team from either the American Athletic Conference or Conference USA. 2010–11 NCAA Football Bowl Games
The 2010–11 NCAA football bowl games concluded the 2010 NCAA Division I FBS football season and included 35 team-competitive bowl games and four all-star games. The games began play with three bowls on December 18, 2010 and included the 2011 BCS National Championship Game in Glendale, Arizona played on January 10 at the University of Phoenix Stadium. Alexander Denell Green (born June 23, 1988) is a former gridiron football running back, having last played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at The University of Hawaii, and played three seasons in the National Football League (NFL) after being drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 2011. High school Green attended and played high school football at Benson Polytechnic High School in Portland, Oregon. He graduated in 2006. During his senior season, he rushed for 1,134 yards and 14 touchdowns to earn first-team All- PIL honors. The LendingTree Bowl is a postseason NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS college football bowl game that has been played annually in Mobile, Alabama since 1999. Bryant Moniz (born January 1, 1989) is a former American professional gridiron football quarterback. He last played for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Early years Moniz was born in Wahiawā, Hawai'i. He attended Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, where he was the starting quarterback for the Leilehua Mules for three years from 2004 to 2006.
