2010 Football League Trophy Final
The 2010 Football League Trophy Final was the 27th final of the domestic football cup competition for teams from Football Leagues One and Two, the Football League Trophy. The final was played at Wembley Stadium in London on 28 March 2010. The match was contested between Carlisle United and Southampton. Southampton won the match 4–1 to give them their first silverware since winning the 1976 FA Cup. 2009–10 Football League Trophy
The 2009–10 Football League Trophy, known as the 2009–10 Johnstone's Paint Trophy for sponsorship reasons, is the 26th Football League Trophy, a knockout competition for English football clubs in Leagues One and Two, the third and fourth tiers of English football. The format is similar to that which has been used since 1996, with four first round regions; North-West, North-East, South-West and South-East; which were used for the first time in the second region, before a two-region format from the area quarter-finals (3rd round); North and South. The resulting regional winners then meet in the final. Luton Town were the defending champions, but were not allowed to defend the trophy due to relegation to the Conference in the same season. Adam Lallana
Adam David Lallana ( ; born 10 May 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for club Brighton & Hove Albion. Lallana began his youth career with AFC Bournemouth before transferring to Southampton in 2000, where he developed in their academy and became a professional in 2006. After a brief loan back to Bournemouth, he broke into Southampton's first team as they earned two consecutive promotions to rise from League One to the Premier League, and became captain in 2012. Marc Bridge-Wilkinson
Marc Bridge-Wilkinson (born 16 March 1979) is an English football coach and former player. A left-sided midfielder and also a winger, he was known for his goal-scoring ability. He started his career at Derby County in 1998, but instead made his name at Port Vale following his transfer to Vale Park in 2000. He made 140 appearances in four years, scoring 36 goals in all competitions, and lifting the Football League Trophy in 2001. He spent the 2004–05 season with Stockport County, before signing with Bradford City in 2005. He spent two years at Bradford, making 95 a total of appearances. He signed with Carlisle United in 2007, and went on to pick up a Football League Trophy runners-up medal with the club in 2010. Adam Clayton (footballer)
Adam Stephen Clayton (born 14 January 1989) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Bradford City. His professional career started at Manchester City. While a City player, he enjoyed loan spells at Carlisle United, with whom he reached the 2010 Football League Trophy Final, and Leeds United, where his loan spell was made permanent basis in 2010. Clayton then had further loan spells at Peterborough United and Milton Keynes Dons before becoming a regular in Leeds' team in the 2011–12 season. He then spent two years with Huddersfield Town, and signed for Middlesbrough in 2014. Paul Thirlwell
Paul Thirlwell (born 13 February 1979) is an English former professional footballer who is assistant manager at Harrogate Town. He is also a former England U21 international. Career Thirlwell was born in Washington, Tyne and Wear, and began his career in Sunderland in August 1997. His first league game for Sunderland was against Tranmere Rovers on 22 August 1998. His only goal for Sunderland came against Luton Town on 19 September 2000 when Sunderland won 3–0 in the English League Cup. Graham Kavanagh
Graham Anthony Kavanagh (born 2 December 1973) is an Irish football manager and former professional player. Kavanagh had a 19-year-long career and played for Middlesbrough, Stoke City, Cardiff City, Wigan Athletic, Sunderland, Sheffield Wednesday and Carlisle United. He also played 16 games for the Republic of Ireland national football team, scoring once. Evan David Horwood (born 10 March 1986) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. He is currently a semi-professional defender for Northern Premier League Division One East side Consett. Ian Patrick Harte (born 31 August 1977) is an Irish football agent and former professional footballer who played as a left back. He was best known for his ability to score goals from long range, including being a free kick specialist. He began his career at Leeds United making 288 official appearances across nine seasons. Peter Michael Murphy (born 27 October 1980, in Dublin) is an Irish football player and coach, who is currently manager of Scottish League Two club Annan Athletic. Murphy played as a defender, but also operated through midfield. He currently holds the club record at Carlisle United for the most appearances for the club as an outfield player with over 400, before being released after 12 years of service in 2013. Richard John Keogh (born 11 August 1986) is a professional footballer who plays as a defender for Ipswich Town and for the Republic of Ireland national team. His main positional role is at centre-back, though he has also played at right-back during his career. Adam James Collin (born 9 December 1984) is an English former footballer who played as a goalkeeper. Career Early career Born in Penrith, Cumbria, Collin started his career as a professional footballer with Newcastle United as a youngster.
