2010 Chatham Cup
The 2010 Chatham Cup is New Zealand's 83rd knockout football competition. The 2010 competition had a preliminary round, a qualification round, and four rounds proper before quarter-finals, semi-finals, and a final. In all, 135 teams took part in the 2010 competition. Draw controversies There were several problems with the draw of teams for specific ties in the 2010 Chatham Cup. The neutrality of the allotment of teams to specific ties was drawn into question by some observers in the Second Round. A coincidence and a computer glitch combined to produce an "early draft" of the ties which included one of the fixtures later replicated in the live draw. The third round also saw controversy when the draw had to be re-made. Initially, teams were not divided geographically for the Third Round draw, despite the competition rules stating that draws would remain regionally based until the fourth round, and some teams found themselves facing long trips which had not been budgeted for. North Harbour Stadium
North Harbour Stadium is a stadium situated in Albany, in North Shore City, New Zealand. It was opened in 1997, after nearly a decade of discussion, planning and construction. Rugby union, association football, rugby league, and baseball are all played on the main ground. The neighbouring oval plays host to the senior cricket and Australian rules football matches. The stadium also hosts large open-air concerts. Onehunga Sports
Onehunga Sports Football Club is a youth football club based in Onehunga, New Zealand. A senior side formerly competed in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Premier, last appearing in the competition in 2019. The club is widely regarded within New Zealand for their strong focus on youth development. Takapuna is an amateur football club based in Takapuna, New Zealand. They compete in the Northern League. History The club was founded as Takapuna City AFC in 1964 as a junior club, with the first senior men's teams being added in 1967. By 1971 they were playing in the Northern league first division, a competition which they won at their first attempt. They entered the New Zealand National Soccer League for the first time in 1981 but only lasted one season before being relegated. Birkenhead United
Birkenhead United AFC is an amateur football club based in Beach Haven, on the North Shore of Auckland, New Zealand. They currently compete in the Northern League. Club history The club was established as Birkenhead in 1960 before it amalgamated with Birkdale in 1963 taking its current name as Birkenhead United. Present day Since 1965, Birkenhead have mainly played either in Division 1 or Division 2 of the Northern League though they twice early on, made it into Premier Division in 1968 and 1970, only to be relegated again that same year. Claudelands Rovers is a semi professional football club in New Zealand. It is based in the Hamilton suburb of Hamilton East. Claudelands Rovers Premier Men's Team plays in Division Two of the Lotto Northern League. The club also fields an U-23 Northern League team as a reserve grade side, and men's teams in several WAIBOP Football competitions. The club's women's team has previously won the Lotto Northern League Premier Women's competition, but in 2021 plays in the WAIBOP Football W-League competition. Three Kings United Football Club is a youth football club based in Three Kings, Auckland, New Zealand. They previously competed in the Lotto Sport Italia NRFL Division 1, with their last appearance coming in 2019. In 2020, Three Kings United merged with Onehunga Sports to form Auckland United, which assumed Onehunga's position in the 2020 NRFL Premier season; the club's youth and social sectors remain in operation.
