2010 Cebu City Local Elections
Local elections were held in Cebu City on May 10, 2010 within the Philippine general election. Registered voters of the city elected candidates for the following elective local posts: mayor, vice mayor, district representative, and eight councilors at-large for each district. There are two legislative districts in the city. Mayoralty and vice mayoralty elections Mayor Tomas Osmeña, the incumbent, was term-limited after serving for three consecutive terms. Vice mayor Michael Rama ran for the first time as the Mayor of Cebu City. Rama defeated 9 of his election rivals, including former Mayor Alvin Garcia, Osmeña's sister Georgia Osmeña and former Senator John Henry Osmeña. Vice Mayor Michael Rama, the incumbent, was term-limited after serving for three consecutive terms. Rachel Marguerite "Cutie" Borromeo del Mar (born November 3, 1966) is a Filipina politician. She served as the representative for the 1st district of Cebu City from 2010 to 2013. Laban Ng Demokratikong Pilipino
The Laban ng Demokratikong Pilipino () is a centre-right political party in the Philippines. There are no results available for the 2004 election for the House of Representatives, but according to the website of the House, the party held 7 out of 235 seats. The party is divided into two factions. The faction led by Edgardo Angara contested in the 2004 elections as a member party of the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (''Coalition of United Filipinos''). Philippine Green Republican Party
The Philippine Green Republican Party, commonly known as PGRP, is a political party in the Philippines. History In 2007, the party was accredited by the Commission on Elections and fielded Senate candidates who were later declared nuisance candidates. In 2010, they again fielded national candidates and local candidates including a Presidential candidate, Felix Cantal. He, together with their senatorial candidates were declared nuisance candidates. Local candidates from PGRP were however able to run in local positions in 11 provinces nationwide. However, all these candidates lost. Many serious environmentalist and greens believe after analyzing the political agenda of the Philippine Green Republican Party that they do not share the basic green principles and agenda to merit being considered a serious and legitimate national green political party. Margarita "Margot" Lim Vargas Osmeña (born July 25, 1949) is a Filipino politician who served as a member of the Cebu City Council from 2010 to 2019. She is married to former mayor of Cebu City Tomas Osmeña. A member of the Vargas Clan of Panay and Negros islands, Osmeña was born in Japan and lived there for one and a half years. She grew up in Manila, where she finished her studies, then moved to the United States where she stayed for eight years. She worked as a banker in both the Philippines and the United States. Edgardo Colina Labella (; May 22, 1951 – November 19, 2021) was a Filipino politician and lawyer who served as the mayor of Cebu City from 2019 until his death in 2021. Prior to becoming mayor, he was the city's vice mayor from 2013 to 2019 and was a member of the Cebu City Council from 1998 to 2001 and again from 2004 to 2013. Bando Osmeña – Pundok Kauswagan (), commonly known as BO–PK or BOPK, is a local political party based in Cebu City, Philippines.
