2010 Bahraini King's Cup
The Bahraini King's Cup is a cup competition involving teams from the Bahraini Premier League and 2nd tier. The 2009 edition was played at the end of the domestic season, but this year it has been moved forward to start in mid-season. Al Ahli were banned by the Bahrain Football Association this season after the team pulled out of last year's Crown Prince Cup semi-final match against Riffa. The 2010 edition is the 54th to be held. Al-Riffa SC
Al-Riffa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الرفاع الرياضي) is a Bahraini professional football club based in Riffa, that competes in the Bahraini Premier League, the top flight of Bahraini football. The club was founded in 1953. History The club was founded in 1953 under the name of West Riffa Sports Club. In 2001, the club changed the name to Al-Riffa Sports Club. Stadium Riffa use Bahrain National Stadium as their home ground, which has a capacity of nearly 24,000 spectators. Achievements The club's first international achievement was in 1982 when Riffa placed second in the GCC Club Cup. This was an important achievement for the club and Bahraini football in general as it helped the region take notice of the talent available in Bahrain. Al Hala
Halat Bu Maher ( ar, حالة بو ماهر), sometimes abbreviated to simply "Al Hala" ( ar, الحالة), is a neighbourhood of Muharraq, Bahrain. It used to be a separate island, but after coastal expansion and dredging, the island has merged with Muharraq Island, and the former settlement was integrated as a neighbourhood of Muharraq city. Manama Club ( ar, المنامة) is a Bahraini professional football club based in Manama. Founded in 1946, the club competes in the Bahraini Premier League, the top flight of football in the country. Manama Club, formally known as Al Taj, is a well-known basketball club in the Gulf and Asia. They have two Gulf Championships, and were the first-ever Bahraini club and second-ever Gulf club to come in third place in the 2000 ABC Champions Cup. Manama Club has won over 45 titles in domestic competitions. Budaiya
Al Budaiya ( ar, البديع) is a coastal town located in the northwestern region of Bahrain Island, in the Northern Governorate of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It neighbors the villages of Diraz and Bani Jamra. History The town was founded by the Dawasiri tribe, but most of the tribe left en masse to mainland Saudi Arabia in 1923, after conflict emerged with the British colonial authorities. Many Dawasir tribe members later returned to Budaiya, with some still living in the village today. Prior to the discovery of oil in Bahrain, most Budaiya residents were involved in the pearl diving and fishing industry.
