2010 AFC Cup Final
The 2010 AFC Cup Final was a football match played on Saturday, 6 November 2010 between Al-Qadsia and Al-Ittihad. It was the 7th final of the AFC Cup. The game was played at Jaber International Stadium, Kuwait City. Both finalists were eligible to compete in the play-offs for the 2011 AFC Champions League, subject to AFC's assessment for professionalism based on selected criteria. Al-Ittihad won the game after penalties. The game was tied 1–1 after regular time and Extra Time. It was their first title. Background Both teams met already in the preliminary round. The first game ended in a scoreless draw, while Al-Qadsia won the second match 3–0, but in the second match it was already known that both sides would advance. Al Qadsia Kuwait
Qadsia Sporting Club ( ar, نادي القادسية الرياضي) is primarily a professional football club. Based in Kuwait City, Al Qadsia was founded in 1953 and first called ''Al-Jazira'', before being renamed to ''Al Qadsia SC'' on 20 October 1960. Qadsia currently plays in the Kuwait Premier League and has won the league recordable 17 times, as the top winning club. Qadsia plays in the Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, which is in Hawalli, and is the third largest stadium in Kuwait. Bader Al-Mutawa
Bader Ahmed al-Mutawa ( ar, بدر أحمد المطوع; born 10 January 1985) is a Kuwaiti professional footballer who plays for Qadsia and the Kuwait national team, where he usually operates as a second striker. He wears the jersey number 17 for both club and country. Club career Al-Mutawa was born in Kuwait City. His performance for both club and national teams lead to him being nominated for best Asian player in 2006 and 2010, though Al-Mutawa did not win the prize. He was awarded the Kuwaiti league's top scorer for local players in the 2008–09 season with 10 goals. Taha Dyab ( ar, طه دياب; born 23 July 1990 in Aleppo, Syria) is a Syrian footballer who plays as a midfielder for Al-Herafyeen, which competes in the Syrian Premier League and is currently a member of the Syria national football team. The 2010 AFC Cup was the 7th edition of the competition, played between clubs from nations who are members of the Asian Football Confederation. The Knockout stage of the competition was held following the completion of the Qualifying competition.
