2010 ADAC GT Masters Season
The 2010 ADAC GT Masters season was the fourth season of the ADAC GT Masters, the grand tourer-style sports car racing founded by the German automobile club ADAC. It began on 10 April at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben and finished on 3 October at the same place after seven double-header meetings. Peter Kox and Albert, 12th Prince of Thurn and Taxis, Albert von Thurn & Taxis became the first drivers in this series to share the championship title. ADAC GT Masters
The ADAC GT Masters is a grand tourer-based auto racing series founded by the international Stéphane Ratel Organisation (SRO) and supported by the German ADAC automotive club. Similar to an earlier ADAC GT Cup series in the 1990s, the new GT Masters ran their first season in 2007. Although the series is based in Germany, select events are run elsewhere in Europe. ADAC GT Cup The original ADAC GT Cup was created in 1993, as a national grand tourer championship similar to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM). The series initially used two divisions, with the upper class running a variety of sports cars, and the smaller class for small coupes. Following dwindling support for the top division, the two classes were combined in 1995. By 1997, the series continued to dwindle, as the series was running only small coupes instead of high powered sports cars. Claudia Hürtgen
Claudia Hürtgen (born 10 September 1971 in Aachen) is a German race driver. Along with Ellen Lohr and Sabine Schmitz, she is one of Germany's best known female racers. Hürtgen started her career in karting and moved to German Formula Three. In 1993, during the F3 invitational race of the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, she suffered hand injuries in a roll-over crash, which ended her single-seater career. She began racing again with touring cars in 1995, winning the Austrian championship, followed with sports car racing, in which she scored class wins, in an LMP-675 class car or a Porsche, in the American Le Mans Series as well as in the 24 Hours of Daytona and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2000, she returned to the site of her crash, to win the Monaco Historic Grand Prix in a Maserati. Andreas Wirth
Andreas Wirth (born 19 November 1984 in Heidelberg) is a German racing driver. In 2004 Wirth won the Formula BMW USA championship after coming state-side, and then advanced to the Champ Car Atlantics in 2005 where he raced for two years, winning three races and finishing 6th and 3rd in the championship. Following up a full 2006 season in Atlantics, Wirth was named to compete in his first Champ Car race in Dale Coyne Racing's entry at Surfer's Paradise, where he finished in 9th place. He then went on to race with Coyne in Mexico City. In 2008 he ran in the Petit Le Mans with PTG Panoz. For seven seasons Wirth competed in the ADAC GT Masters series where he tallied a total of 9 victories. Alpina Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH & Co. KG is an automobile manufacturing company based in Buchloe, in the Ostallgäu district of Bavaria, Germany that develops and sells high-performance versions of BMW cars. Kévin Estre (born 28 October 1988) is a French professional racing driver. He is currently competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for Porsche in the GTE PRO class. Career Karting Born in Lyon, Estre began his racing career in karting, contesting the 2001 French Cadet Championship and taking his first title. Jörg Bergmeister
Jörg Bergmeister (born 13 February 1976, in Leverkusen) is a former racing driver from Germany and an ambassador of Porsche. His late father, Willi Bergmeister, owned a workshop and dealership where Michael Schumacher learned his trade as a car mechanic in the 1980s. Since 1996, Jörg has raced in the Porsche Carrera Cup. In 2006 he won the Grand-American Rolex Series Championship. He also won the 2003 24 Hours of Daytona overall in a Porsche 911 GT3-RS. René Rast (born 26 October 1986 in Minden) is a German professional racing driver and the 2017, 2019 and 2020 DTM champion. He previously drove for Audi Sport Abt Schaeffler in Formula E from 2019 to 2021 before Audi left the sport at the end of 2021. Christopher Haase
Christopher Haase (born 26 September 1987 in Kulmbach) is a German professional racing driver. He became the FIA GT3 European Champion in 2009, racing for Lamborghini and Reiter Engineering, and raced in GT1 for the first time in 2010. He achieved considerable success in the 2014 season, sharing the winning Audi R8 LMS in the Nurburgring 24 Hours, and finishing second in the GTD class of the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship in America. Johannes Seidlitz (born 13 June 1990) is a German racing driver from Wassertrüdingen. He currently competes in the ADAC GT Masters championship. Racing career Single-seaters After competing in karting between 2001 and 2006, Johannes moved onto Formula BMW, competing in Formula BMW ADAC in 2007. He moved into the British Formula Renault BARC series for 2008.
