2009–10 Wichita State Shockers Men's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 Wichita State Shockers men's basketball team represented Wichita State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team, which plays in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), was led by third-year head coach Gregg Marshall. The Shockers were preseason rank #77 in Rivals.com's Preseason 1-347 Rankings. They were also picked to finish 4th in the MVC by Rivals and 5th by the MVC Committee. The Shockers played their 2009-10 home games at Charles Koch Arena, on the campus of Wichita State University. The Shockers finished the season 25–10, 12–6 in MVC play, lost in the championship game of the 2010 Missouri Valley Conference men's basketball tournament and were invited to the 2010 National Invitation Tournament, where they lost in the first round to Nevada. Gregg Marshall
Michael Gregg Marshall (born February 27, 1963) is an American college basketball coach whose most recent position was head coach at Wichita State University. Marshall has coached his teams to appearances in the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament in 14 of 22 years as a head coach. He is the winningest head coach in Wichita State and Winthrop history with 331 and 194 wins, respectively. He resigned on November 17, 2020, after an internal investigation following allegations by multiple former players detailing physical and verbal abuse at the hands of Marshall. Marshall was paid a settlement of $7,750,000 by Wichita State for his resignation. Redbird Arena
CEFCU Arena, formerly known as Redbird Arena, is a 10,200-seat multi-purpose arena located in Normal, Illinois, on the campus of Illinois State University. Built in 1989, the building is notable for its use of a Teflon-coated roof that gives off a "glow" during night events. Three Illinois State Redbirds athletic teams use the facility as their home court: men's basketball, women's basketball, and women's volleyball. The 2009–10 Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team represented Illinois State University during the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Redbirds, led by third year head coach Tim Jankovich, played their home games at Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena and were a member of the Missouri Valley Conference. The Redbirds finished the season 22–11, 11–7 in conference play to finish in third place. They were the number three seed for the Missouri Valley Conference tournament. KWCH-DT (channel 12) is a television station licensed to Hutchinson, Kansas, United States, serving the Wichita area as an affiliate of CBS. Municipal Auditorium is a multi-purpose facility located in Kansas City, Missouri. It opened in 1935 and features Streamline Moderne and Art Deco architecture and architectural details. Background Municipal Auditorium was the first building built as part of the "Ten-Year Plan", a bond program that passed by a 4 to 1 margin in 1931.
