The 2009–10 Western Athletic Conference men's basketball season began with practices on October 17, 2009 and ended with the 2010 WAC men's basketball tournament March 11–13, 2010 at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, NV on the campus of the University of Nevada, Reno, University of Nevada. 2009–10 Utah State Aggies men's basketball team, Utah State won the regular season championship while 2009–10 New Mexico State Aggies men's basketball team, New Mexico State won the WAC Tournament. The 2009–10 Idaho Vandals men's basketball team represented the University of Idaho during the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Members of the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), the Vandals were led by second-year head coach Don Verlin and played their home games on campus at Cowan Spectrum in Moscow, Idaho. The Vandals were overall in the regular season and in conference play, tied for sixth in the standings. The 2009–10 Rhode Island Rams men's basketball team represented the University of Rhode Island in the 2009–10 college basketball season. This was head coach Jim Baron's ninth season at Rhode Island. The Rams competed in the Atlantic 10 Conference and played their home games at the Ryan Center. They finished the season 26–10, 9–7 in A-10 play and lost in the semifinals of the 2010 Atlantic 10 men's basketball tournament. The 2009–10 Wichita State Shockers men's basketball team represented Wichita State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team, which plays in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC), was led by third-year head coach Gregg Marshall. The Shockers were preseason rank #77 in Rivals.com's Preseason 1-347 Rankings. The 2009–10 Michigan State Spartans men's basketball team represented Michigan State University in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. Stew Morrill
Stewart Morrill (born July 25, 1952) is an American college basketball coach and the former head coach of the Utah State University men's basketball team. Morrill was an All-American at Ricks College and a two-time All-Big Sky selection for Gonzaga University. He started his coaching career in 1974 as an assistant at Gonzaga, and continued at the University of Montana under Mike Montgomery in 1978. In the spring of 1986, he was promoted to head coach of the Grizzlies, and led them to an NCAA berth in 1991. Morrill coached at Colorado State University from 1991 to 1998 before resigning to go to Utah State. George Nessman
George Raymond Nessman II (born March 22, 1959) is an American athletic administrator and former college basketball coach who is the current athletic director at Justin-Siena High School. Nessman coached at the high school and community college levels before becoming an assistant basketball coach at California in 2004. From 2005 to 2013, Nessman was the men's basketball head coach at San Jose State. Marvin Eugene Menzies (born October 15, 1961) is an American college basketball coach who is currently the head men's coach at the University of Missouri–Kansas City. Menzies was hired on April 26, 2022 after former coach Billy Donlon resigned to become an assistant coach at Clemson. He was previously the associate head coach at Grand Canyon University. David Allen Carter (born March 12, 1967) is an American college basketball coach who is an assistant coach at Loyola Marymount University. From 1999 to 2009, Carter was an assistant at the University of Nevada, Reno, under Trent Johnson from 1999 to 2004 and Mark Fox from 2004 to 2009, including as associate head coach beginning in 2005. Donald Gene Verlin (born June 15, 1965) is an American college basketball coach who was most recently the head coach at the University of Idaho from 2008 to 2019.
