2009–10 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Season
The 2009–10 season was Tottenham Hotspur's 18th season in the Premier League. It was their 32nd successive season in the top division of the English football league system. Tottenham began the season under the stewardship of veteran manager Harry Redknapp in his first full season at the club. Relative to previous seasons, Tottenham's transfer dealings were limited, with only seven players brought in during the two transfer windows; 16 players left White Hart Lane over the course of the season. Tottenham achieved UEFA Champions League football for the first time in their history, having not participated in the top European competition since 1961–62, by finishing fourth, ensuring their highest ever Premier League standing. Harry Redknapp
Henry James Redknapp (born 2 March 1947) is an English former football manager and player. He has previously managed AFC Bournemouth, West Ham United, Portsmouth, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City. In his second spell at Portsmouth, he managed the side that won the 2008 FA Cup. At the conclusion of the 2009–10 season, he guided Tottenham into the UEFA Champions League. Redknapp announced his retirement from football management in 2017. His son, Jamie Redknapp, played under him at Bournemouth and Southampton. He is also uncle to Frank Lampard, who played under him at West Ham United. Kyle Naughton
Kyle Naughton (born 17 November 1988) is an English professional footballer who plays as a right back for club Swansea City. Naughton was a product of Sheffield United's academy before breaking into their first team in 2008, transferring to Tottenham Hotspur the following year. Gilberto da Silva Melo (born 25 April 1976), more commonly known as Gilberto, is a Brazilian former professional footballer. He played at left-back for the majority of his career. The 2008–09 Premier League (known as the Barclays Premier League for sponsorship reasons) was the 17th season since the establishment of the Premier League in 1992. Déguy Alain Didier Zokora (born 14 December 1980) is an Ivorian former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder.
