Siot Tanquincen
Bethune "Siot" Tanquingcen is a Filipino professional basketball head coach. He is currently an assistant coach for the Benilde Blazers. As coach, Tanquingcen has won three PBA championships: two with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel ( 2004 Fiesta Conference and 2004–2005 Philippine Cup) and one with the San Miguel Beermen ( 2009 Fiesta Conference). He was former player for the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP, the Sunkist Orange Juicers and the San Miguel Beermen in the PBA and the Pampanga Dragons in the Metropolitan Basketball Association. He finished high school at the Philippine Cultural High School. Playing career Tanquingcen was one of the role players for the UST Tigers in their historic four-peat run from 1993 to 1996 under head coach Aric del Rosario. Freddie Abuda
Freddie Abuda (born October 8, 1969) is a Filipino former basketball player. He was drafted by Purefoods, then known Coney Island Ice Cream, in the 2nd round as the 14th overall pick. Abuda played eleven seasons in the PBA, most of them with the San Miguel Beermen. Abuda gained the moniker The Scavenger as a large proportion of his points were the result of his scoring on a follow-up after rebounding a teammate's missed shot while playing in the Philippine Basketball Associations (PBA). He began his career as a reserve player for Purefoods and was later traded to San Miguel Beer where he developed into an important role player. His tough defensive and solid rebounding skills contributed to San Miguel Beer gaining multiple championships. Dondon Hontiveros
Donaldo "Dondon" Cabañes Hontiveros (born June 1, 1977) is a Filipino politician and former professional basketball player. He is a member of the Cebu City Council since June 30, 2022 and previously from 2019 to 2021. He was the Vice Mayor of Cebu City from November 2021 to June 2022, by virtue of succession due to the death of Mayor Edgardo Labella. He is also an assistant coach for the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), though he is on leave from the team due to his government duties. In basketball, Hontiveros has won three PBA championships and was a 13-time PBA All-Star. Alaska Aces (PBA)
The Alaska Aces were a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association since 1986 under the ownership of Alaska Milk Corporation (AMC) and the owner of 14 PBA championships, tied with the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the Magnolia Hotshots for the second-most titles overall. They are one of the most popular teams in the league and the Philippines. The Aces won nine PBA championships in the 1990s, including a rare grand slam (winning three championships in one season) during the 1996 season, joining the Crispa Redmanizers (1976, 1983), San Miguel Beermen (1989), and the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers ( 2013–14) as one of only four franchises to achieve the feat. Araneta Coliseum
The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Nicknamed as "the Big Dome", it is one of the largest indoor arenas in Asia, and it is also one of the largest clear span domes in the world. Olsen Racela
Rodericko Cesar Escueta Racela, also known as Olsen Racela, (born November 1, 1970) is the head coach of the FEU Tamaraws men's basketball team. He is also currently an assistant coach of the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He is a retired PBA player and is considered to be one of the best point guards who ever played in the league. He was also a notable member of the Philippine national basketball team on many occasions. Dorian Peña
Dorian Alan Peña (born October 12, 1977) is a Filipino-American professional basketball player. He is nicknamed the "Junkyard Dawg" for his consistent plays of putbacks and offensive rebounds. He previously played for the Negros Slashers and the Pasig Pirates, Pasig-Rizal Pirates in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association before being recruited by the Beermen. A Mythical Five member in the 2004–05 season, the 6-6 slotman was relegated to the Second Team the following year. He was one of the only three locals to average in double-double during a season, the other two being Eric Menk and Asi Taulava, both former Most Valuable Player winners.
