2009–10 Heart Of Midlothian F.C. Season
The 2009–10 season was the 129th season of competitive football by Heart of Midlothian, and their 27th consecutive season in the top level of Scottish football, competing in the Scottish Premier League. Hearts first four SPL games of the 2009–10 season were announced as Dundee United away, Rangers at home, newly promoted St Johnstone away and Kilmarnock at home. Heart of Midlothian made five signings over the summer break: Ian Black, Dawid Kucharski, Ismael Bouzid, Suso Santana and David Witteveen. On 13 August 2009, Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo announced the appointment of midfielder Michael Stewart to the role of club captain, replacing Robbie Neilson after his move to Leicester City. Billy Osman Mehmet (born 3 January 1984) is a professional footballer who last played as a striker for of Northern Cyprus. Born in London, of English, Irish and Turkish Cypriot descent, he has played for the Republic of Ireland U21 team. Mehmet attended Bacon's College, Rotherhithe, he is a product of West Ham United Academy and was signed by the club at the age of eight and spent eleven years with West Ham United before transferring to the Scottish Premier League at the age of 19. Ryan Cairns Stevenson (born 24 August 1984) is a Scottish professional footballer who played for Heart of Midlothian and St Johnstone, as well as English side Ipswich Town . He is currently manager of West of Scotland Football League side Glenafton Athletic. Personal life Stevenson was born in Irvine, Ayrshire, and was a boyhood Ayr United fan as stated on BBC Scotland. He was a pupil at Drongan Primary School and Kyle Academy in Ayr. In April 2013, Stevenson was banned from driving for a period of 20 months, following being arrested for drink driving. David Witteveen (born 5 May 1985 in Varese, Italy) is an Austrian footballer. He plays as a striker and is currently playing for SV Lackenbach.
