2009–10 Greek Football Cup
The 2009–10 Greek Football Cup was the 68th edition of the Greek Football Cup. The competition culminated with the final held at Olympic Stadium (Athens), Olympic Stadium on 24 April 2010. The final was contested by Panathinaikos F.C., Panathinaikos and Aris Thessaloniki F.C., Aris. The last time that the two clubs were met in the Final was in 1939–40 Greek Football Cup, 1940. Panathinaikos didn't win the Cup since Greek Cup 2003-04, 2004 and the last time that participated in a Final was in 2006–07 Greek Football Cup, 2007. Aris on the other hand, didn't win the Cup since 1969–70 Greek Football Cup, 1970 and the last time that played in a Final was in 2007–08 Greek Football Cup, 2008. 2009–10 Super League Greece
The 2009–10 Super League Greece was the 74th season of the highest football league of Greece and the fourth under the name ''Super League''. The league consisted of 16 teams. Participants are the 13 best teams from the 2008–09 season and three teams that have been promoted from the Beta Ethniki. On 11 April 2010, Panathinaikos defeated Iraklis 2–0 to secure their 20th Greek title and their first one in six years. In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a tie (draw), draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as Overtime (sports)#Association football, extra time (if used) has expired. Overtime (sports)
Overtime (OT) or extra time (ET) is an additional period of play to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament and replays are not allowed.
