2009–10 Dallas Stars Season
The 2009–10 Dallas Stars season was the 43rd season for the National Hockey League franchise that was established on June 5, 1967. The Stars introduce Joe Nieuwendyk as their new general manager, replacing Les Jackson and Brett Hull, who were both reassigned within the organization. On June 11, head coach Dave Tippett was fired and replaced with Marc Crawford. Western Conference (NHL)
The Western Conference () is one of two conferences in the National Hockey League (NHL) used to divide teams. Its counterpart is the Eastern Conference (NHL), Eastern Conference. History Originally named the Clarence Campbell Conference (or Campbell Conference for short), it was created in 1974–75 NHL season, 1974 when the NHL realigned its teams into two conferences and four divisions. Because the new conferences and divisions had little to do with North American geography, geographical references were removed. The conferences and divisions were re-aligned in 1981–82 NHL season, 1981 to better reflect the geographical locations of the teams, but the existing names were retained with the Campbell Conference becoming the conference for the NHL's westernmost teams. Dave Tippett
David G. Tippett (born August 25, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey coach and player. Tippett played in the NHL from 1983 to 1994 as a winger for the Hartford Whalers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers and Washington Capitals. He also served as head coach of the Dallas Stars from May 21, 2002 until June 10, 2009, and for the Phoenix/Arizona Coyotes from September 24, 2009 until June 22, 2017. As head coach of the Coyotes, Tippett won the Jack Adams Award as NHL Coach of the Year in 2010. He was the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers from 2019 to 2022. Playing career Prince Albert Raiders (1979–1981) Tippett began playing with the Prince Albert Raiders of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) in the 1979–80 season. Francis Wathier
Francis Wathier (born December 7, 1984) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger. Wathier was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars and played for their farm team the Texas Stars. He has had three stints with the Dallas Stars, playing in two games in October 2009, three games in February 2010, and one game in the 2011–12 season. In 2011, he was named an AHL All-Star and scored two goals for the Western Conference in an 11–8 loss to the Eastern Conference. On March 9, 2014, Wathier was traded to the Milwaukee Admirals. Perttu Lindgren
Perttu Lindgren (born August 26, 1987) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey center who briefly played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Dallas Stars. Playing career Lindgren played with Ilves Tampere in the Finnish SM-liiga when he was drafted 75th overall in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars. Lindgren signed an entry-level contract with the Stars and in the 2009–10 season, made his NHL debut, playing in a single game for the Stars. Aaron Gagnon
Aaron Gagnon (born April 24, 1986) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey centre who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Dallas Stars and Winnipeg Jets. Early life Gagnon was born on April 24, 1986, in Quesnel, British Columbia, to parents Kelly and Barry Gagnon. He was raised in Armstrong, British Columbia. Jamie Benn
Jamie Randolph Benn (born July 18, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger and captain of the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League (NHL). In the 2007 NHL entry draft, Benn was drafted by the Dallas Stars 129th overall. He played his junior hockey career with the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL). He represented Canada at the 2009 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships, where he helped capture a gold medal. With Team Canada, he won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Matthew Scott Climie (born February 11, 1983) is a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender. He is currently an unrestricted free agent who most recently played with the CBR Brave of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). Climie has played in the National Hockey League with the Dallas Stars and Phoenix Coyotes. Climie played junior hockey for three different teams finishing with the Truro Bearcats in the Maritime Junior Hockey League (MJAHL). Kari Lehtonen (born November 16, 1983) is a Finnish former professional ice hockey goaltender who played 14 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Atlanta Thrashers and Dallas Stars. The Texas Stars are a professional ice hockey team based in Cedar Park, Texas. They are the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Dallas Stars. Brent Krahn (born April 2, 1982) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. He was drafted ninth overall by the Calgary Flames in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft and played a single game in the National Hockey League for the Dallas Stars. Alexander James Auld (born January 7, 1981) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey goaltender. Auld played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Vancouver Canucks, Florida Panthers, Phoenix Coyotes, Boston Bruins, Ottawa Senators, Dallas Stars, New York Rangers and the Montreal Canadiens.
