Championnat National
The Championnat de France National ( en, French National Championship), commonly referred to as simply National or Division 3, serves as the third division of the French football league system behind Ligue 1 and Ligue 2. Contested by 18 clubs, the Championnat National operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Ligue 2 and the Championnat National 2, the fourth division of French football. Seasons run from August to May, with teams playing 34 games each, totalling 306 games in the season. Most games are played on Fridays and Saturdays, with a few games played during weekday evenings. Play is regularly suspended the last weekend before Christmas for two weeks before returning in the second week of January. Stade Lavallois Mayenne Football Club (), also referred to as Stade Laval or simply Laval, is a French association football club based in Laval in western France. The Direction Nationale du Contrôle de Gestion (DNCG) (English: National Directorate of Management Control) is the organization responsible for monitoring and overseeing the accounts of professional association football clubs in France. It was founded in 1984 and is an administrative directorate of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP). The current president of the DNCG is Richard Olivier. In December 2007, French State Secretary for Sports Bernard Laporte claimed that the DNCG should be a Europe-wide body to create equality throughout the continent. Football Club Libourne, formerly known as AS Libourne or Libourne Saint-Seurin-sur-L'Isle, is a French football team from the town of Libourne in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The club plays in the Championnat National 3, the fifth tier of French football. History The club was founded by Georges Kany in 1935 as Football Club Libourne. The club then became omnisports in 1966 and thus changed its name to Association Sportive Libournaise or simply AS Libourne. The Entente Sannois Saint-Gratien is a French association football team based in the suburb of Saint-Gratien in Paris. The team was founded in 1989 and play in the Championnat National 3, the country's fifth tier of competition. Recent history Recent seasons have seen the team struggle, both on and off the pitch. Following many years in the French 3rd division during which time they were denied promotion to Ligue 2 by an administrative error at the league in the mid-2000s (for which they were awarded financial compensation), they were relegated at the end of the 2008–09 season and started season 2009–10 in the Championnat de France Amateur. Calais Racing Union FC (Calais RUFC) was a French football club based in Calais, France. Calais RUFC was founded in 1974 after a merger of two local clubs and, as an amateur club, reached the 2000 Coupe de France Final which it lost to top-flight Nantes. Luzenac AP (french: Luzenac Ariège Pyrénées) is a French football club based in the commune of Luzenac (650 inhabitants) ( Ariège). It was founded in 1936.
