2009–10 Albanian Cup
2009–10 Albanian Cup was the fifty-eighth season of Albania's annual cup competition. It began on 23 September 2009 with the First Preliminary Round. The winners of the competition qualified for the second qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. Flamurtari were the defending champions. The rounds were played in a two-legged format similar to those of European competitions. If the aggregated score is tied after both games, the team with the higher number of away goals advances. If the number of away goals is equal in both games, the match is decided by extra time and a penalty shootout, if necessary. Preliminary Tournament In order to reduce the number of participating teams for the First Round to 32, a preliminary tournament was played. Flamurtari FC
Flamurtari FC is a professional football club based in Vlorë, Albania. The club plays in the Kategoria e Parë, which is the second tier of football in the country. Founded in 1923, the club is one of the oldest in Albania, and it is also one of the most successful clubs, having won one Albanian Superliga title in 1991 four Albanian Cups and two Albanian Supercups. KF Luzi i Vogël 2008 is an Albanian football (soccer) club based in Luz i Vogël, Kavajë. The club was founded in 2008 and is currently competing in Kategoria e Parë which is the 2nd tier of Albanian football. During the club's first ever season they managed a respectable 4th-place finish (in the Second Category). History Luzi United played its first ever competitive game against KF Erzeni in the Second Division Group A on 21 September 2008. The match itself was not a great moment in the club's history as they lost 2–0 away from home. The next two games in the season were also away from home which meant that Luzi would not earn a single point in the first four games of the season. Kategoria e Parë is the second level of professional football in Albania, behind the Kategoria Superiore and above the Kategoria e Dytë. Format Kategoria e Parë was founded in 1930. 2009–10 Kategoria Superiore
The 2009–10 Kategoria Superiore was the 74th season of top-tier football in Albania and the twelfth season under the name ''Kategoria superiore''. The season began on 23 August 2009 and ended on 19 May 2010. Tirana was the defending champions. Team changes from last season Lushnja and Elbasani were directly relegated to the Kategoria e Parë after finishing 11th and 12th in the previous year's standings. They were replaced by Kategoria e Parë champions Laçi and runners-up Skënderbeu. 9th placed Bylis and 10th placed Partizani had to compete in single-match relegation play-offs. Both teams were relegated in the process by losing against the third and fourth-placed teams from Kategoria e Parë, Kastrioti and Gramozi. KF Tomori is an Albanian football club based in the city of Berat. The club's home ground is the Tomori Stadium and they currently participate in the Kategoria e Parë. History The sport of football was introduced to the city of Berat in the early 1910s by students who had completed their studies abroad.
