The 2009 SaskTel Tankard (Saskatchewan's men's provincial curling championship) was held February 4–8 at the Meadow Lake Curling Club in Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan. The winning team, skipped by Joel Jordison, represented Saskatchewan at the 2009 Tim Hortons Brier in Calgary. Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan
Meadow Lake is a city in the boreal forest of northwestern Saskatchewan, Canada. Its location is about northeast of Lloydminster and north of North Battleford. Founded as a trading post in 1799, it became a village in 1931 and a town in 1936. On November 9, 2009, it officially became Saskatchewan's 14th city. Meadow Lake is the main business centre of northwestern Saskatchewan and serves the many towns and villages as a regional shopping centre. Randy Bryden (born January 20, 1970) is a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. Bryden is most notable for winning the 1996 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship for Saskatchewan with teammates Cathy Trowell, Russ Bryden and Karen Inglis. Estevan is the eighth-largest city in Saskatchewan, Canada. It is approximately north of the Canada–United States border. The Souris River runs by the city. Bob Doerr
Robert Pershing Doerr (April 7, 1918 – November 13, 2017) was an American professional baseball second baseman and coach. He played his entire 14-year Major League Baseball (MLB) career for the Boston Red Sox (1937–1951). A nine-time MLB All-Star, Doerr batted over .300 three times, drove in more than 100 runs six times, and set Red Sox team records in several statistical categories despite missing one season due to military service during World War II. Yorkton is a city located in south-eastern Saskatchewan, Canada. Glen Despins (April 19, 1964 – October 1, 2020) was a Canadian curler from Regina, Saskatchewan. Despins was a two-time Saskatchewan men's champion, representing his province at the 1996 and 1998 Labatt Briers, Canada's national men's curling championship. He was also the winner of 2003 Canadian Open Grand Slam event. Career Despins joined team Rod Montgomery in 1995, playing third for the rink. The team won two Pool Tankards (the Saskatchewan men's curling championship) together. The team first won in 1996 in their first season together.
