The 2009 RCNJC season was the inaugural season for the Rugby Canada National Junior Championship. Rugby Canada National Junior Championship
The Rugby Canada National Junior Championship was an amateur rugby union competition in Canada. It only lasted two seasons, 2009 and 2010. The 2009 champion was the Vancouver Wave, and the 2010 championship went to the Newfoundland Rock. The league was created when Rugby Canada disbanded the Rugby Canada Super League (RCSL) and replace it with a new under-20 league. The league consisted of 12 teams, and was broken up into four divisions; Pacific, Prairie, Central, and Atlantic. The league was intended to train, test, and get young rugby players ready so that someday they will be able to compete for the Canadian national rugby union team. Nova Scotia Keltics
The Nova Scotia Keltics were a rugby team in Halifax, Nova Scotia that competed in the Rugby Canada Super League. They played their home games alternatively at the Wanderers Grounds and Graves-Oakley Memorial Park. History The club was one of the founding members of the Rugby Canada Super League in 1998. The Keltics played in the MacTier Cup final in 1998 (as the Nova Scotia Keiths) and in 2000, losing on both occasions. Defence Minister Peter MacKay made his return at inside centre for the Keltics on May 19, 2008 in a 49–5 away loss to the Niagara Thunder. The Newfoundland Rock are a Canadian rugby union team based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The team plays in the Rugby Canada National Junior Championship (RCNJC) and draws most of its players from the Newfoundland Rugby Union, one of fourteen Rugby Unions that have representative teams in the RCNJC. The organization was originally a competitor at the senior men's level. Saskatchewan Prairie Fire
The Prairie Fire was a Canadian rugby union team based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The team played in the Rugby Canada Super League and the Rugby Canada National Junior Championship, which followed once the former was disbanded. The Fire drew most of their players from the Saskatchewan Rugby Union, one of fourteen Rugby Unions that had representative teams in the RCSL. The Prairie Fire played their home games at Regina Rugby Park in Regina. The Prairie Fire were Western Champions for the 2005 and 2006 seasons, but both times came up short in the Super League Final versus the Newfoundland Rock, once in Regina and once in St. Johns, Newfoundland, at Swilers Rugby Park.
