2009 Paradise Jam Tournament
The 2009 Paradise Jam was an early-season men's and women's college basketball tournament. The tournament, which began in 2000, was part of the 2009–10 NCAA Division I men's basketball season and 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The tournament was played at the Sports and Fitness Center in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. 2009–10 Purdue Boilermakers men's basketball team, Purdue won the men's tournament, the men's final game included a spectacular play where Purdue's Chris Kramer swam down the court in order to poke the ball from a dribbling Tennessee player, knocking the ball off another Tennessee player to give Purdue the ball. The U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam is a NCAA college basketball tournament that takes place annually in late November. The men's tournament typically takes place the week before Thanksgiving (United States), Thanksgiving, with the women's tournament occurring during Thanksgiving week. It is held in Saint Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas at the Sports and Fitness Center on the campus of the University of the Virgin Islands. Colorado State Rams men's basketball, Colorado State is the defending men's champion. Texas A&M Aggies women's basketball, Texas A&M and Arizona Wildcats women's basketball, Arizona are the defending women's champions in the Reef and Island divisions, respectively. Saint Joseph's Hawks Men's Basketball
The Saint Joseph's Hawks men's basketball team represents Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The program is classified in the NCAA's Division I, and the team competes in the Atlantic 10 Conference. Saint Joseph's competes as well as part of the Philadelphia Big 5. Their home court is the Hagan Arena. The team is coached by Billy Lange, who was hired on March 28, 2019, after Phil Martelli was fired as head coach on March 19, 2019, after 24 seasons. 2009–10 South Carolina Gamecocks Women's Basketball Team
The 2009–10 South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2009–10 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Gamecocks were coached by Dawn Staley, in her second year, and played their home games at Colonial Life Arena. They competed as members of the Southeastern Conference. Gamecock freshman and future WNBA player Kelsey Bone became the first South Carolina player to be named SEC Newcomer of the Year, before then transferring to Texas A&M. South Carolina finished the season with a final record of 14–15. They lost to Ole Miss in the SEC Tournament and were not invited to the NCAA Tournament. Skylar Diggins-Smith
Skylar Kierra Diggins-Smith (born August 2, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Phoenix Mercury in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Diggins was drafted third overall by the Tulsa Shock in the 2013 WNBA draft. In high school, she was the National Gatorade Player of the Year and the Gatorade Female Athlete of the Year. Diggins played point guard for Notre Dame, where she led Notre Dame to three consecutive Final Fours and two consecutive NCAA championship appearances. She finished her Notre Dame career ranked first in points and steals, second in assists, and as a two-time winner of the Nancy Lieberman Award as the top point guard in the nation. Ann "Muffet" McGraw (born December 5, 1955) is an American former college basketball coach, who served as the head women's basketball coach at Notre Dame from 1987 to 2020, compiling a 848–252 (.771) record over 33 seasons. She led her team to nine Final Fours (1997, 2001, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018 and 2019), seven championship game appearances (2001, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2018, and 2019), and two National Championships in 2001 and 2018. McGraw was the sixth different Division I coach to win multiple NCAA titles, joining Geno Auriemma, Pat Summitt, Linda Sharp, Tara VanDerveer and Kim Mulkey McGraw was born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
