2009 North African Cup Winners Cup
The 2009 North African Cup Winners Cup was the second edition of the competition initiated in 2008 by the UNAF. CS Sfaxien of Tunisia were crowned champions after defeating Ahly Benghazi of Libya in the final on the away goals rule. North African Cup Winners Cup
The North African Cup Winners Cup was a competition organised by the Federation of North African Football, that contains the winners of the domestic cups around North Africa. The competition contains representatives from Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Libya and Egypt. History The competition was founded along with the North African Cup of Champions in order to create a sense of competitiveness in the region. Tunisian club Esperance Sportive de Tunis claimed the inaugural title, defeating Algerian club JSM Béjaïa 2-1 over two legs. On 2011 The competition was cancelled because the Arab Spring revolutions. On 2015, the Union of North African Football decided to merge the competition with the North African Cup of Champions and created the UNAF Club Cup. Misrata
Misrata ( ; also spelled Misurata or Misratah; ar, مصراتة, Miṣrāta ) is a city in the Misrata District in northwestern Libya, situated to the east of Tripoli and west of Benghazi on the Mediterranean coast near Cape Misrata. Misurata Stadium is a football stadium in Misurata City, North West Libya. It was the previous home of the Libyan national team and hosted some of the country's 2006 World cup qualifiers, most notably against Cameroon, where they restricted the Indomitable Lions to a 0-0 draw. Abderrahmane Mssassi (born 24 March 1985) is a Moroccan former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career Mssassi spotted by scouts from Maghreb de Fès during a youth tournament. He played at all youth levels until 2004 when he made his first-team debut. In August 2006, he went on trial with Scottish club Dundee United, but ultimately failed to win a contract. Samir Al Wahaj (born September 1, 1979) is a Libyan footballer, currently playing for Ahly Benghazi in the Libyan Premier League Career Samir is somewhat of a journeyman striker. He started his career at Ghawt Al Sha'al, before moving to Al Madina, where he won the Libyan Premier League in 2001. He then moved to Wefaq Sabratha, where he spent just over a year before he transferred to Al Urouba in July 2004. He won the Libyan Second Division with the club - season 2004-05 - and moved back to Tripoli to play for Al Wahda. Stade Taïeb Mhiri
The Stade Taïeb Mhiri is a multi-purpose stadium in Sfax, Tunisia. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Club Sportif Sfaxien. Built in 1938, it holds 14,000 people and was used for the 2004 African Cup of Nations.
