2009 Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold
The 2009 Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold was the inaugural edition of the Malaysia Open Grand Prix Gold and fourth grand prix's badminton tournament of the 2009 BWF Grand Prix Gold and Grand Prix. The tournament was held at the Bandaraya Stadium in Johor Bahru, Malaysia from 23 to 28 June 2009 and had a total purse of $120,000. Johor Bahru
Johor Bahru (), colloquially referred to as JB, is the capital city of the state of Johor, Malaysia. Andre Kurniawan Tedjono (born 7 December 1986) is an Indonesian badminton player who specializes in singles. Tedjono joined the PB Djarum club in 1998. Career While still in his teens Tedjono won the Indonesian (closed) national men's singles title in 2003 and 2005. Tan Chun Seang
Tan Chun Seang (born 22 August 1986) is a Malaysian badminton player specializing in men's singles. His best achievement was won the Grand Prix title at the 2013 Canada Open by beating Eric Pang in the final. He was banned from playing in Asian countries for two years by Badminton Association of Malaysia due to his decision to quit the national team. In 2018, Tan was suspended by the Badminton World Federation and banned from participate in fifteen years for playing tournaments over match fixing allegations. Hu Yun (; born 31 August 1981) is a retired badminton player representing Hong Kong since 2006. He competed at the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games, and also 2016 Rio Olympics. Born in Wuhan, Hubei, China, Hu started playing badminton in 1988, and participated in local province badminton teams at an early age. Muhammad Hafiz Hashim
Muhammad Hafiz bin Hashim (born 13 September 1982) is a former Malaysian badminton player whose biggest success is having won the 2003 All England Open Badminton Championships. He is currently the Malaysia national junior under-15 singles coach. Personal life He studied at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sultan Ismail before transferring to Kuala Lumpur. Then, he transferred back to Kelantan and studied in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pintu Geng before he transferred to Sultan Ismail College. Parupalli Kashyap (born 8 September 1986) is an Indian badminton player. A former World No.6, he trains at Gopichand Badminton Academy. He was awarded the Arjuna Award by the Government of India in 2012. He created history by reaching the quarter-finals of men's singles at the 2012 London Olympics, being the first male player from India to do so.
