2009 LA Tennis Open
The 2009 LA Tennis Open (also known as the LA Tennis Open presented by Farmers Insurance Group for sponsorship reasons) was a tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 83rd edition of the event known that year as the LA Tennis Open and was part of the ATP World Tour 250 series of the 2009 ATP World Tour. It took place at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in Los Angeles, United States, from July 27 through August 2, 2009. The LA Tennis Open was the second ATP stop of the 2009 US Open Series. In addition to the singles and doubles events, a Legends Invitational Singles competition was held, featuring Michael Chang, Stefan Edberg and Jim Courier, winner of the competition at the 2008 Countrywide Classic. ATP World Tour 250 Series
The ATP 250 tournaments (previously known as the ''ATP World Tour 250'' tournaments, ''ATP International Series'', and ''ATP World Series'') are the lowest tier of annual men's tennis tournaments on the main ATP Tour, after the four Grand Slam (tennis), Grand Slam tournaments, ATP Finals, ATP Tour Masters 1000, ATP Masters 1000 tournaments, and ATP 500 tournaments. As of 2020 ATP Tour, 2020, the series includes 39 tournaments, with 250 ranking points awarded to each singles champion—which accounts for the name of the series. It was the 82nd edition of the Los Angeles Open, and was part of the International Series of the 2008 ATP Tour. It took place at the Los Angeles Tennis Center in Los Angeles, United States, from August 4 through August 10, 2008. The singles draw featured ATP No. 9, San Jose and Dubai champion Andy Roddick, Nottingham runner-up and Umag titlist Fernando Verdasco, and winner of back-to-back titles in Stuttgart and Kitzbühel Juan Martín del Potro. Benjamin Becker (born 16 June 1981) is a German retired professional tennis player who is known for defeating former world No. 1 Andre Agassi in the third round at the 2006 US Open in what was Agassi's last match as a professional player. Becker has reached a career-high ATP ranking of No. 35 in singles on October 27, 2014, and No. 58 in doubles on July 5, 2010. Igor Konstantinovich Kunitsyn ( rus, И́горь Константи́нович Куни́цын, , ˈiɡərʲ kʊˈnʲitsɨn; born September 30, 1981) is a retired tennis player from Russia. He made it into the top 100 for the first time in 2006, and reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 35 in July 2009. Dudi Sela
David "Dudi" Sela ( he, דודי סלע; born 4 April 1985) is an Israeli professional tennis player. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 29 in July 2009. Sela won the French Open 2003 junior doubles title. Thomas Mario Haas (; born 3 April 1978) is a German former professional tennis player. He competed on the ATP Tour from 1996 to 2017. After breaking into the world top 100 in 1997, and reaching a career-high singles ranking of world No. 2 in May 2002, his career was interrupted by injuries: Haas twice dropped out of the world rankings due to being unable to play for twelve months. The Pepperstone ATP rankings are the Association of Tennis Professionals' (ATP) merit-based system for determining the rankings in men's tennis. The 2000 US Open was held between August 28 – September 10, 2000. It was the final Grand Slam event of 2000. Both Andre Agassi and Serena Williams were unsuccessful in their title defences; Agassi being upset in the second round by Arnaud Clément and Williams losing in the quarter-finals to Lindsay Davenport.
