2009 King Cup Of Champions
The 2009 King Cup of Champions, or The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup, was the 34th season of King Cup of Champions since its establishment in 1957, and the 2nd under the current edition. Al-Shabab won their second title in a row after beating the same team they faced in last season's final Al-Ittihad with a 4–0 victory in the final match. The King Cup (sometimes spelled King's), officially known as The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Cup ( ar, كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين), is the Saudi Arabian football knockout cup competition, run by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation. The cup was created in 1957 and was played until 1990. It was re-launched again in 2007 as ''King's Cup of Champions'', and was played by only the top 6 finishers of the Professional League plus the Crown Prince Cup and Federation Cup winners. Since 2014, it was renamed as ''King's Cup'', the competition returned to its roots by implementing the old format. 153 clubs have taken part in the tournament. Away Goals Rule
The away goals rule is a method of tiebreaking in association football and other sports when teams play each other twice, once at each team's home ground. Under the away goals rule, if the total goals scored by each team are equal, the team that has scored more goals " away from home" wins. This is sometimes expressed by saying that away goals "count double" in the event of a tie, though in practice the team with more away goals is simply recorded as the victor, rather than having additional or 'double' goals added to their total. Abdoh Ibrahim Otaif (born April 2, 1984, in Saudi Arabia) is a former football player who played for Al-Shabab in Riyadh and Saudi Arabia national team.
