Bob Whalen
Bob Whalen (born October 15, 1957) is an American college baseball coach who has been the head coach of Dartmouth since the start of the 1990 season. Under him, the Big Green have appeared in two NCAA Tournaments. A Maine alumnus, Whalen worked as an assistant coach there from 1982 to 1989. Playing career Whalen played college baseball under head coach John Winkin at Maine from 1976 to 1979, appearing on the school's 1976 College World Series team. His teammates at Maine included Red Sox coach Brian Butterfield, Clemson head coach Jack Leggett, and major leaguer Bert Roberge. Coaching career Assistant coaching After working as a high school coach following graduation, Whalen began his college coaching career prior to the start of the 1982 season as an assistant at Maine. Red Rolfe Field At Biondi Park
Red Rolfe Field at Biondi Park is a baseball venue in Hanover, New Hampshire, United States. It is home to the Dartmouth Big Green baseball team of the NCAA Division I Ivy League. The field has a capacity of 2,000 spectators. The field portion of the facility is named for Red Rolfe, Dartmouth Class of 1931, former New York Yankees player and Dartmouth athletic director from 1954–1967. In 2008, a $5.2 million donation of two Dartmouth alumni, Michael J. (Class of 1979) and Cynthia Ginn (Class of 1980) Biondi, allowed for extensive renovations of the facility. The playing surface was changed from natural grass to FieldTurf and shifted slightly toward left field. David F. Hoy Field, usually referred to simply as Hoy Field, is a baseball field at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where the Big Red baseball team plays. Description Hoy Field is located just west of Schoellkopf Field and east of the Engineering Quad on the southern end of Cornell's campus. The dimensions of the field from home plate to the outfield fence are 315 feet in left field, 405 feet in center field and 325 feet in right field. The seating capacity of Hoy Field is about 500. For many years the Bacon Cage, an indoor batting practice facility that was also used as an indoor golf driving range, was located between Schoellkopf Field and Hoy Field.
