2009 Global Champions Tour
The 2009 Global Champions Tour was the 4th edition of the Global Champions Tour (GCT), an important international show jumping competition series. The series is held mainly in Europe, one competition and also the final are held outside of Europe. All competitions are endowed at least 285000 euros. All GCT events were held as CSI 5*. The competitions was held between May 2, 2009 and August 23, 2009. The final was held in Doha, Qatar from November 11, 2009 to November 15, 2009. The champion of the Global Champions Tour Final of this year is Michel Robert of France on ''Kellemoi de Pepita''. Global Champions Tour
The Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) is an annual pre-eminent individual show jumping series that comprises up to 15 rounds of competition hosted around the world. It brings together the top 30 riders in the FEI Jumping World Rankings. It was founded in 2006 by the Olympic gold medalist Jan Tops. Member of the Monaco royal family Charlotte Casiraghi is Honorary President of the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo leg of the tour and regular high-profile competitors include Athina Onassis, Georgina Bloomberg (who also owns a team which competes in the Global Champions League), Jessica Springsteen, Sofia Abramovich, Guillaume Canet and Jennifer Gates. Rodrigo de Paula Pessoa (born 29 November 1972 in Paris, France) is a Brazilian equestrian specialized in show jumping. The son of fellow equestrian Nelson Pessoa, Pessoa is considered one of the most talented of his generation, being an Olympic Games gold medalist in individual jumping and having over 70 Grand Prix wins. Benjamin Richard Maher MBE (born 30 January 1983, in Enfield) is a British show jumper. He represented Britain at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, 2009 European Championships in Windsor, 2012 London Olympics, 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
