2009 Fox Memorial
The 2009 Auckland Rugby League season was the 2009 season of senior rugby league in Auckland. The Auckland Rugby League ran the various competitions. The season commenced on 14 March with the start of the Phelan Shield and ended on 5 September with the Fox Memorial Grand Final. This was the 100th season of the competition, which began with the 1910 season. The season followed the same format as 2008, with a qualification series in the first half of the year giving sixteen teams the opportunity to enter the Fox Memorial competition. Beginning 7 June two games a week were broadcast in both English and Māori on Māori Television and Te Reo respectively. Fox Memorial Qualification Series The Lion Red Fox Memorial Qualification Series involved sixteen teams divided into two pools, with the top eight teams entering the Fox Memorial competition. Te Atatu Roosters
The Te Atatu Roosters is a rugby league club based in Te Atatū, New Zealand. They participate in the Auckland Rugby League competition. They currently have 25 teams across schoolboy, junior and senior grades. The Roosters premier team began the 2022 Auckland Rugby League season, 2022 season in the Fox Memorial Shield competition. Home ground The Roosters play at the Auckland Council, council owned Jack Colvin Park located on the Te Atatū Peninsula, next to the North Western Motorway. Hibiscus Coast Raiders
The Hibiscus Coast Raiders are a rugby league club based on the Hibiscus Coast, New Zealand. They compete in Auckland Rugby League's Fox Memorial competition and between 2000 and 2005 were also involved in the Bartercard Cup competition. History The club was formed in 1982 by a group of players that included former Kiwi Ken Stirling. In 1997 the club moved from its original location at Edith Hopper Park to Stanmore Bay Reserve.
