2009 FedEx Cup Playoffs
The 2009 FedEx Cup Playoffs, the series of four golf tournaments that determined the season champion on the U.S.-based PGA Tour, began on August 27 and ended on September 27. It included the following four events: *The Barclays — Liberty National Golf Club, Jersey City, New Jersey *Deutsche Bank Championship — TPC Boston, Norton, Massachusetts * BMW Championship — Cog Hill Golf & Country Club, Lemont, Illinois *The Tour Championship — East Lake Golf Club, Atlanta, Georgia For the second time in the three-year history of the playoffs, Tiger Woods won the FedEx Cup. FedEx Cup
The FedEx Cup is a championship trophy for the PGA Tour. Its introduction marked the first time that men's professional golf had a playoff system. Announced in November 2005, it was first awarded in 2007. Rory McIlroy is the 2022 champion. This competition is sponsored by FedEx. TPC Boston is a private golf club in the northeastern United States, located in Norton, Massachusetts, approximately south of Boston. Yang Yong-eun ( ko, 양용은; born 15 January 1972), also called Y. E. Yang, is a South Korean professional golfer who currently plays on the PGA Tour Champions. He was previously a member of the PGA Tour, where he won twice, including most notably the 2009 PGA Championship when he came from behind to defeat Tiger Woods. List Of Point Distributions Of The FedEx Cup
The following tables list the point distributions used in the FedEx Cup during the regular season and playoffs, as well as the ''starting score vs par'' element of the FedEx Cup's Tour Championship. Regular point distribution Only golfers who make the first cut for an event will receive points for that event. In case of a two-cut system (used if 78 or more players make the cut after two rounds), the low 70 and ties advance to the final round, and players who do not advance to the fourth round after the second cut receive points. At the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, where only 60 players make the cut after three rounds, players in the standings who do not make the cut and are between 61st and 70th (and ties) will also receive points. In case of a tie, point totals are added together and divided among all golfers tied for a particular position at the end of a tournament. 2007 FedEx Cup Playoffs
The 2007 FedEx Cup Playoffs were held from August 23 to September 16. They consisted of four events. The events in order are The Barclays, Deutsche Bank Championship, BMW Championship and The Tour Championship. These were the first FedEx Cup playoffs being held. Tiger Woods won the playoffs and took home $10,000,000. The point distribution can be seen here.
