2009 Faroe Islands Cup
The 2009 Faroe Islands Cup started on 28 March 2009 and ended on 29 July 2009. The defending champions were two-time winners EB/Streymur. Only the first teams of Faroese football clubs are allowed to participate. The Preliminary Round involved only teams from first, second and third deild. Teams from the highest division entered the competition in the First Round. Preliminary round These fixtures involve clubs below the Faroe Islands Premier League. These matches took place on 28 and 30 March 2009. First round Entering in this round are the winners from the preliminary round and the clubs from this year's Faroe Islands Premier League. These matches were played on 9 April 2009. Quarter-finals Entering this round are the eight winners from the first round. These matches are scheduled for 29 April. Víkingur Gøta
Víkingur is a semi-professional association football, football club in the Faroe Islands. The club was founded in 2008 after the merger of GÍ Gøta and Leirvík ÍF. The club is based in Leirvík, while the Serpugerði Stadium, stadium is in Norðragøta. Both villages are part of the same municipality Eysturkommuna, located on the island of Eysturoy and about 5 kilometers away from each other. The club won the Faroese championship for the first time in the 2016 season. In the 2017 season, Vikingur won the championship again. Tórshavn
Tórshavn (; lit. "Thor's harbour"), usually locally referred to as simply ''Havn'', is the capital and largest city of the Faroe Islands. Gundadalur
Gundadalur is the name of an area in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. It is home to three different football pitches and other sports facilities. The largest one is the national stadium Tórsvøllur, a multi-use stadium. Overview The actual Gundadalur Stadium is located just alongside Tórsvøllur. It was opened in 1911. There are two sports halls in the same area. Høllin á Hálsi is the oldest one; built in 1970, it is located just above Tórsvøllur. The sports hall has been owned by Tórshavn Municipality since 2004. Gundadalshøllin is the other sports hall, lying below and south of Høllin á Hálsi. Arnbjørn Hansen
Arnbjørn Theodor Hansen (; born 27 February 1986 in Eiði) is a Faroese football striker who plays for EB/Streymur in the Faroe Islands Premier League. He has also played for the Faroe Islands national team from 2006 to 2014. As of 20 November 2020 he has played 288 matches and scored 155 goals in the Faroe Islands Premier League Career Arnbjørn Theodor Hansen has some good skills in handball and football. Finnur Justinussen (born 30 March 1989) is a Faroese footballer who plays for Víkingur Gøta and the Faroe Islands national team. Club career He began his career with local club GÍ Gøta. After GÍ Gøta and Leirvík ÍF merged in 2008, he played for the newly formed club Víkingur. He scored 19 goals in the 2009 season, making him the league top goalscorer. During the 2010 season he scored 7 league goals and 3 in the Faroese Cup. In 2011, he was top scorer again, with 21 goals. NSÍ Runavík
NSÍ Runavík is a Faroese football club, playing in Runavík on the island of Eysturoy. It was founded 24 March 1957. In 2003 NSÍ participated for the first time on a European stage. In 2007, the club won the Faroe Islands Premier League for the first time. The club has won the Faroe Islands Cup in 1986, 2002 and 2017. Havnar Bóltfelag (HB, lit. 'Harbour football club') is a Faroese football club, and is one of the oldest in the Faroe Islands. The club was founded in 1904, and is based in the city of Tórshavn.
