2009 Croke Cup
The 2009 Croke Cup was the 58th staging of the Croke Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1944. The competition ran from 21 March to 13 April 2009. De La Salle College Waterford were the defending champions, however, they were beaten by Blackwater Community School in the Harty Cup quarter-final. Semple Stadium
The Semple Stadium is the home of hurling and Gaelic football for Tipperary GAA and for the province of Munster. Located in Thurles, County Tipperary, it is the second largest GAA stadium in Ireland (after Croke Park), with a capacity of 45,690. Ger Aylward
Ger Aylward (born 30 March 1992) is an Irish hurler who plays club hurling for Glenmore and played inter-county level with the Kilkenny senior hurling team until his retirement after the 2020 season. He usually lines out as a left corner-forward. Playing career Good Counsel College Aylward first came to prominence as a hurler with Good Counsel College in New Ross. He played in every grade of hurling before eventually joining the college's senior hurling team. On 14 March 2009, Aylward was at right corner-forward when Good Counsel College faced Castlecomer Community School in the Leinster final. Charles Dwyer
Charles "Cha" Dwyer (born 1994) is an Irish hurler who plays as a left wing-forward for the Laois senior team. Born in Ballinakill, County Laois, Dwyer first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Castlecomer Community School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Laois minor team before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2013 league. Canice Maher
Canice Maher (born 1991) is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with St Martin's and St Jude's. Maher lined out at inter-county level with both the Kilkenny and Dublin senior hurling teams. Career Maher first came to hurling prominence as a member of the Castlecomer Community School team that won the Leinster Colleges Championship in 2007. He simultaneously lined out with the St Martin's club at juvenile and underage levels before eventually progressing onto the club's senior team. Maher first appeared on the inter-county scene as a member of the Kilkenny minor hurling team that beat Galway in the 2008 All-Ireland minor final before later captaining the team in his second and final season. UPMC Nowlan Park (; ) is the principal Gaelic Athletic Association stadium in Kilkenny, Ireland. Named after James Nowlan (the longest serving President of the GAA), the stadium hosts major hurling matches and is home to the Kilkenny hurling team. It opened in 1927 replacing St. James Park. JK Brackens GAA
JK Brackens is a Gaelic Athletic Association club serving the parish of Templemore, Clonmore and Killea in County Tipperary, Ireland. JK Brackens compete in the county Tipperary GAA and Mid-Tipperary divisional competitions and is one of only two clubs in Tipperary that consistently complete at senior level in both the hurling and gaelic football.
