The 2008 Ukrainian Super Cup became the fifth edition of Ukrainian Super Cup, an annual association football, football match contested by the winners of the previous season's Ukrainian Premier League, Ukrainian Top League and Ukrainian Cup competitions. The match was played at the Oleksiy Butovskyi Vorskla Stadium, Vorskla Stadium, Poltava, on 15 July 2008, and contested by 2007–08 Ukrainian Premier League, league winner FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Shakhtar Donetsk and 2007–08 Ukrainian Cup, cup winner FC Dynamo Kyiv, Dynamo Kyiv. FC Dynamo Kyiv
Football Club Dynamo Kyiv (, ) is a Ukrainian professional football club based in Kyiv. Founded in 1927 as a Kyivan football team of republican branch of the bigger Soviet Dynamo Sports Society, the club as a separate business entity was officially formed only in 1989 and currently plays in the Ukrainian Premier League, and has never been relegated to a lower division. The club has secured brand rights from the Ukrainian Dynamo society and has no direct relations to the sports society since 1989. Pape Diakhaté
Pape Malickou Diakhaté (born 21 June 1984) is a Senegalese former professional footballer who played as a central defender. Club career Diakhaté was born in Dakar, Senegal. Having come through the Nancy youth ranks, he made his Ligue 2 debut on 20 October 2001, playing the first half of the 2–0 win over LB Châteauroux. Atanda Ayila Yussuf (born 4 November 1984) is a Nigerian former professional footballer who played as a central defender or defensive midfielder. Ognjen Vukojević (born 20 December 1983) is a Croatian football manager and former professional player. Andriy Mykolayovych Nesmachnyi ( uk, Андрій Миколайович Несмачний, born 28 February 1979) is a retired Russian-born Ukrainian footballer. He has spent his entire career at Dynamo Kyiv in the Ukrainian Premier League. He was a skillful, attacking left-back who could also play as central defender and left midfielder. Răzvan Dincă Raț (; born 26 May 1981) is a Romanian former footballer who mainly played as a left-back. He made a name for himself in Romania at Rapid București, with which he won two national titles, one national cup and one supercup between 1998 and 2003.
