The 2008 Suruga Bank Championship ( ja, スルガ銀行チャンピオンシップ2008; es, Copa Suruga Bank 2008) is the inaugural match between the winners of the previous season's J. League Cup and the Copa Sudamericana. It was contested by the 2007 J. League Cup winner Japanese club Gamba Osaka and the 2007 Copa Sudamericana champion Argentine club Arsenal. The match was won by Arsenal after a late second-half header by Carlos Casteglione off a corner kick by Javier Yacuzzi. Gamba Osaka
is a Japanese professional football club based in Suita, Osaka Prefecture. The club plays in the J1 League, which is the top tier of football in the country. Shu Kurata
is a Japanese international football player currently playing for Gamba Osaka in the J1 League. His regular playing position is an attacking midfielder or a winger. Club career A native of Osaka, Kurata came up through the youth team ranks at Gamba Osaka and made his way into the first-team squad ahead of the 2007 season. is a former Japanese football player. Playing career Matsuyo was born in Nara on April 9, 1974. After graduating from Tenri University, he joined J1 League club Gamba Osaka in 1997.
