2008 Supercoppa Italiana
The 2008 Supercoppa Italiana was a football match that was played by 2007–08 Serie A winners Internazionale and 2007–08 Coppa Italia winners Roma. The match proved to be a tightly contested affair. After exchanging goals, it appeared that Inter was on its way to victory on Mario Balotelli's goal on the 83rd minute, however, Mirko Vučinić tied the game for Roma at the 90th minute. Extra time settled nothing. In the penalty shoot-out, it appeared that a miss by Inter's Dejan Stanković would be decisive, however, Roma captain Francesco Totti missed the team's fifth shot, which would have given his team the cup. In the seventh round, Roma's Juan missed while Inter captain Javier Zanetti scored, ending the match in favour of the Serie A champions. Supercoppa Italiana
The Supercoppa Italiana ( en, Italian Super Cup) is an annual football match contested by the winners of the Serie A and the Coppa Italia in the previous season. If the same team wins both the Serie A and Coppa Italia titles in the previous season, the Supercoppa is contested by the Serie A winner and the Coppa Italia runner-up, in essence becoming a rematch of the previous year's Coppa Italia final. Originally, it was scheduled in the summer as a curtain-raiser to the new season, played in the home stadium of the Serie A champion. In recent years, the match has been scheduled during the winter and is contested mainly outside of Italy. Nicolás Andrés Burdisso (born 12 April 1981) is an Argentine football manager and former professional player who played as a centre back. Burdisso began his career with Boca Juniors. Maicon Douglas Sisenando (born 26 July 1981), known as Maicon (), is a Brazilian retired footballer who played as a right-back. Maicon began his career in his native country with Cruzeiro, after initially playing for Grêmio and Criciúma at youth level.
