2008 Singapore League Cup
The 2008 Singapore League Cup marks the second occasion on which the Singapore League Cup competition has been staged. (The event was launched in 2007). Its official sponsored name for 2008 is the Avaya- J&J League Cup. In 2007, the event was held before the start of the S.League season (and serving as a pre-season warm-up tournament), and was won by Woodlands Wellington FC. However, in 2008, the event is being held during the S.League season. All 12 S.League teams have entered the 2008 competition. The cup is being played over four rounds. The top four teams in the S.League in 2007 were given a bye to the Quarter-Final stage. The final will be played on 16 June at Jalan Besar Stadium. Gombak United
Gombak United Football Club was a professional football club which competed in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore. The club was based in Bukit Gombak. During the early years of the S. League, Gombak United played their home games at Bukit Gombak Stadium before moving to Jurong West Stadium in 2006 until they dissolved in 2012. History Prior to joining the S.League, the club was known as Redhill Rangers FC. From 1998 to 2002, the club played their S.League home games at the Bukit Gombak Stadium before pulling out of the S.League at the end of the 2002 season due to financial difficulties. Singapore Armed Forces Football Club
Warriors Football Club is a Singaporean professional Association football, football club that played in the Singapore Premier League, the top division of football in Singapore. Before changing their name on 20 January 2013, they were previously known as the Singapore Armed Forces Football Club (SAFFC) since their establishment on 16 February 1996. Despite their name back then, not all players from the team came from the Singapore Armed Forces, Armed Forces. Some were internationals and others were foreign. The club's original choice of mascot was a wolf, but club officials chose a rhinoceros, which represents discipline, spirit, courage and teamwork. is a South Korean professional footballer who last played for the Singaporean club Singapore Armed Forces. Woodlands Wellington Football Club is an inactive professional association football, football club which played in the S.League, the top division of football in Singapore.
