2008 NRW Trophy
The 2008 NRW Trophy was held in two parts, with ice dancers competing separately from the singles disciplines and pair skating. Both competitions were held at the Eissportzentrum Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. The ice dancing competition was held between October 31 and November 2, 2008, and the other disciplines were held between December 4 and December 7, 2008. Javier Fernández (figure Skater)
Javier Fernández López (; born 15 April 1991) is a Spanish former figure skater. He is the 2018 Olympic bronze medalist, a two-time World champion (2015, 2016), a two-time World bronze medalist (2013, 2014), a seven-time European champion (2013–2019), a two-time Grand Prix Final silver medalist (2014, 2015), a three-time Rostelecom Cup champion (2014–2016), a two-time Grand Prix in France champion (2016–2017) and an eight-time Spanish national champion (2010, 2012–2018). Stefan Lindemann
Stefan Lindemann (born 30 September 1980) is a German retired figure skater. He is the 2004 World bronze medalist, 2005 European bronze medalist, 2000 World Junior champion, and a seven-time (2000, 2002, 2004–2007, 2010) German national champion. Career Stefan Lindeman started skating at age 4 in Erfurt at the local skating club. At age 12 he wanted to play ice hockey, but his mother kept him in figure skating. His coach was Ilona Schindler. After finishing his school he was sponsored by the Bundeswehr (German Army). In 1995, at age 14, Lindemann made his first successful appearance in the international figure skating scene by placing fourth at the junior world championships. In 1996 he placed 12th at the German nationals. He placed fourth in the same event in 1997, second in 1999, and first in 2000, becoming the German champion. Ari-Pekka Nurmenkari (born 8 July 1983) is a Finnish former competitive figure skater. He is a seven-time (2003–2007, 2009, 2010) Finnish national champion and has represented Finland at the World Figure Skating Championships. He is the 2008 & 2009 Nordic champion. Gregor Urbas
Gregor Urbas (born 20 November 1982 in Jesenice) is a Slovenian former competitive figure skater. He is a three-time Golden Spin of Zagreb champion, a five-time Triglav Trophy champion, the 2006 Ondrej Nepela Memorial champion, and a nine-time (2001–2009) Slovenian national champion. He competed at the 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. He qualified for the free skate at nineteen ISU Championships – six Worlds, eight Europeans, and five Junior Worlds. Urbas began skating when he was about eight years old. His first coach was Mojca Kurbos. He joined Elena Babitskaia and Valeri Babitski by 2001. They coached him until the end of the 2004–05 season. Gordana Smrekar became his coach the following season. During his career, he practiced mainly in Slovenia and occasionally traveled to Philadelphia to train under Uschi Keszler. Mark Vaillant (born September 8, 1989 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) is a French former figure skater. He is a two-time Crystal Skate of Romania medalist and a two-time French national junior bronze medalist. At the 2009 World Junior Championships, he qualified to the free skate and finished 18th overall. Earlier in his career, he competed in domestic events in the United States as a single skater and as a pair skater with Mariclair Vaillant. Vaillant holds dual French-American citizenship. He attended Sciences Po Paris before working in emerging markets at Goldman Sachs in London and more recently as a VP in a similar role at Morgan Stanley. Philipp Tischendorf (born 7 June 1988) is a German former competitive figure skater. He is the 2007 German national silver medalist and competed at two ISU Championships. Personal life Philipp Tischendorf was born on 7 June 1988 in Berlin, Germany. In 1994, he began attending the Werner-Seelenbinder-School in Berlin, a special school for sportsmen. His mother was a gymnast, his father played volleyball in the second highest league in East Germany, his brother Robert played football for BFC Dynamo Berlin, and his sister Nadine and brother Max practiced figure skating. Career Tischendorf was introduced to figure skating at age three and a half by his sister Nadine, who is 11 years his elder. Early in his career, he was coached by Jürgen Bertko.
