2008 Kuwait Federation Cup
The 1st Kuwaiti Federation Cup was held between January 1, 2008 and February 5, 2008. The First Federation Cup was one of four competitions in the Kuwaiti 2007/2008 season, all 14 clubs participated in the championship. They were divided into two groups of seven, and the winner and runner-up of each group advanced to the semi-finals. Al Qadsia won this season's Federation Cup after overcoming Al Kuwait 4-3 in penalties. Kuwait Federation Cup
The Kuwaiti Federation Cup ( ar, كأس الاتحاد الكويتي) is a competition organised by the Kuwait Football Association, the Kuwaiti version of a League cup and has been played in its current format every year since 2008. The first edition of the Federation Cup however was played in the 1969–70 season, although not much is known about the competition in the early years. The competition is for senior teams playing in the top tier Kuwaiti Premier League, although the 2015–16 edition saw Burgan enter to gain much needed practice before they enter the top flight. The cup competition is predominantly played during international breaks (Group stage) and after league match days. the Tournament was abolished at the end of 2015–16 season later returned in 2017–18. Penalty Shootout (football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium
The Al-Sadaqua Walsalam Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Adiliya Kuwait City, Kuwait. It is currently used mostly for football (soccer), football matches. The stadium holds 21,500. It is the 2nd largest stadium in Kuwait. The Stadium hosted many finals for the Kuwait Emir Cup and Kuwait Crown Cup. In addition, 2 Arabian Gulf Cup Tournaments were held in this Stadium, the first taking place in 1990 where Kuwait national football team, Kuwait won the 10th Arabian Gulf Cup trophy, and the second in 16th Arabian Gulf Cup, 2003, where they finished 6th. Ziad Jaziri
Ziad Jaziri ( ar, زياد جزيري) (born 12 July 1978 in Tunis) is a Tunisian former football striker. He has 64 caps and 14 goals for the national team, and was called up to the 2006 World Cup. He was also in the 2002 World Cup squad. In addition, Jaziri was on the winning Tunisian team at the 2004 African Cup of Nations. Firas Mohamad Al Khatib ( ar, فراس محمد الخطيب; born 9 June 1983) is a Syrian former footballer who mainly played as a forward. He is the Syria national team all-time top goalscorer, with 36 goals. Talal Yousef Mohammed (born 24 February 1975), known mainly as Talal Yousef, is a former Bahraini footballer. Yousef played mainly as an attacking midfielder and sometimes as a striker.
