The 2008 Indonesian Speedcar Series round was a Speedcar Series motor race held on 16 and 17 February 2008 at Sentul International Circuit in Sentul, Indonesia. Stefan Johansson
Stefan Nils Edwin Johansson (born 8 September 1956) is a Swedish racing driver who drove in Formula One for both Ferrari and McLaren, among other teams. Since leaving Formula One he has won the 1997 24 Hours of Le Mans and raced in a number of categories, including CART, various kinds of Sports car racing and Grand Prix Masters. Formula One career Johansson's route to Formula One was via the British Formula 3 Championship, which he won in 1980 driving for future McLaren team boss Ron Dennis' Project Four team. In Formula One he participated in 103 grands prix, debuting on 13 January 1980 for the Shadow Racing Team at the 1980 Argentine Grand Prix when he was still a Formula Three regular. Moreno Soepraptopage 18, Autosport magazine - 28 September 2006 (born in Jakarta, Indonesia on November 14, 1982) is an Indonesian politician and former racing driver. He is the younger brother of Ananda Mikola, another former racing driver. Moreno Soeprapto also was the former member of Minardi F1 academy team in 2004. Crash Soeprapto was involved in a car crash in 2006 at Sentul during the Asian Formula Three Championship when he drove into the rear of James Winslow. Winslow's car was damaged and he was pushed off onto the gravel, but Soeprapto's car rolled with the impact, landing on its side. Winslow left his car to investigate Soeprapto's condition and found him trapped in the car, with a broken fuel line spilling gasoline. Familiar with the car because he had previously driven it himself, Winslow turned off the fuel line and managed to dislodge Soeprapto so that the pair could flee immediately before the car "burst into flames". Fabien Giroix (born 17 September 1960) is a French racing driver from Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, Paris. Racing career Formula cars Giroix began his career in French Formula Renault in 1984, finishing 4th. In 1985 he drove in the French Formula Three Championship and finished 12th. In 1986 he only participated in a handful of Formula 3 races in the British and German series. In 1987 he drove in two major F3 races (Monaco and Macau) and made his World Touring Car Championship and made his DTM debut in an Alpina BMW M3. In 1988 he drove in the first five races of the International Formula 3000 season for Sport Auto Racing, starting second and finishing fourth in his first start at Circuito de Jerez. Ukyo Katayama
is a Japanese former racing driver and team manager, most notable for competing for six years in Formula One. He participated in 97 Grands Prix, debuting on 1 March 1992. He scored a total of five championship points, all of them for the Tyrrell team in 1994. He also competed in the 1999 24 Hours of Le Mans, finishing 2nd overall and 1st in the GTP class. Jean Alesi (born Giovanni Alesi, 11 June 1964) is a French professional racing driver of Italian origin. After successes in minor categories, notably winning the 1989 Formula 3000 Championship, his Formula One career included spells at Tyrrell, Benetton, Sauber, Prost, Jordan and Ferrari, where he proved very popular among the Tifosi. Klaus Karl Ludwig (born 5 October 1949) is a German racing driver. Biography He also known as ''König Ludwig'' ("King Ludwig") for his success in touring cars and in sports car racing. In the 1970s, Ludwig drove for Ford in the Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft, winning in 1979 with a Kremer Racing-Porsche 935. John Paul "Johnny" Herbert (born 25 June 1964) is a British former racing driver and current television announcer for Sky Sports F1. He raced in Formula One from 1989 to 2000, for seven different teams, winning three races and placing 4th in the 1995 World Drivers' Championship. Speedcar Series
The Speedcar Series Championship was a stock car racing series that was active from January 2008 to June 2009 across two championship seasons. Races were held across several countries, spanning the Middle East and Asia. It featured up to 24 drivers competing in identical V8 620 hp stock cars, deliberately lacking electronic driver aids. Its headquarters were situated at the Dubai Autodrome. Former Formula One drivers Jacques Villeneuve, Jean Alesi, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Christian Danner, Johnny Herbert, Stefan Johansson, Narain Karthikeyan, Ukyo Katayama, JJ Lehto, Gianni Morbidelli, Alex Yoong and Vitantonio Liuzzi competed in the Speedcar Series.
