2008 FIA GT Bucharest 2 Hours
The 2008 Bucharest City Challenge was the sixth round of the 2008 FIA GT Championship season and was organised by City Challenge GmbH. It took place at the Bucharest Ring temporary street circuit in Bucharest, Romania, on 23 — 24 August 2008. Format Unlike the previous running at Bucharest in 2007, the 2008 event introduced a new event format that involved two races. After qualification, a one-hour race was held and entries were awarded half of the standard FIA points for their finishing positions. On Sunday, a second one-hour race was held, with the starting grid being determined by the finishing order of the first race. Half points were again rewarded based on finishing order. Anthony Kumpen (born 3 November 1978) is a Belgian professional racing driver and team manager. Kumpen currently works as the team manager for PK Carsport in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. He previously competed full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, winning the championship twice in 2014 and 2016. He also joint-held the record of the most 24 Hours of Zolder wins with six. Pekaracing NV, competing as PK Carsport, is a racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series as well as the Belcar Trophy in conjunction with Russell Racing. Christophe Bouchut (born 24 September 1966 in Voiron, Isère) is a French professional racing driver. Maserati MC12
The Maserati MC12 (''Tipo M144S'') is a limited production two-seater sports car produced by Italian car maker Maserati to allow a racing variant to compete in the FIA GT Championship. The car entered production in 2004, with 25 cars produced. A further 25 were produced in 2005 after the FIA changed the rules and reduced the maximum length allowed. The second batch of 25 are 150mm shorter than the originals, making a total of 50 cars available for customers. With the addition of 12 cars produced for racing, a total of just 62 were ever produced. Maserati designed and built the car on the chassis of the Ferrari Enzo, but the final car is much larger and has a lower drag coefficient, along with being longer, wider and taller and has a sharper nose and smoother curves than the Enzo.
