2008 Copa Del Rey Final
The 2008 Copa del Rey Final was the 106th final of the Spanish cup competition, the Copa del Rey. The final was played at Vicente Calderón in Madrid, on 16 April 2008. The match was won by Valencia, who beat Getafe 3–1, winning the tournament for the seventh time. It was a second defeat in the final in succession for Getafe, who also lost to Sevilla in 2007. These had been their only appearances in the event; by contrast it was Valencia's 16th final. The 2007–08 Copa del Rey was the 106th staging of the Copa del Rey. The competition started on 29 August 2007 and concluded on 16 April 2008 with the final, held at the Vicente Calderón Stadium in Madrid, in which Valencia lifted the trophy for the seventh time in their history with a 3–1 victory over Getafe, who were also beaten finalists a year earlier. Francisco Javier Casquero Paredes (born 11 March 1976) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played usually as a central midfielder. Over 11 seasons, he amassed La Liga totals of 322 matches and 43 goals, mainly with Getafe (six years) and Sevilla (four). Rubén De La Red
Rubén de la Red Gutiérrez (born 5 June 1985) is a Spanish football manager and former central midfielder. He made a name for himself at Getafe after emerging through Real Madrid's ''La Fábrica''. Cosmin Marius Contra (; born 15 December 1975) is a Romanian football manager and former player. Primarily an attacking-minded right-back, he was also deployed as a midfielder. Manuel Tena López (born 3 February 1978) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a central defender. Over 12 seasons, he totalled 208 matches across both major levels of Spanish football and scored five goals, representing mainly Getafe (six years, four in La Liga). Oscar Alfredo Ustari (born 3 July 1986) is an Argentine professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Liga MX club Pachuca.
