2008 Chicago Rush Season
The Chicago Rush season was the eighth season for the franchise. The Rush finished the regular season 11–5, making the playoffs again as they have in every year of their existence. They won their second consecutive Central Division title, and entered the playoffs as the top seed in the American Conference. They were eliminated from the playoffs in the Divisional round by the Grand Rapids Rampage, 41–58. Mike Hohensee
Michael Louis Hohensee (born February 22, 1961) is a former professional football quarterback who played in the United States Football League, Canadian Football League, National Football League and Arena Football League. He most recently the head coach of the AFL's Portland Thunder. He played college football at the University of Minnesota, and was in the AFL for two seasons, from 1987 to 1988. Hohensee has been a head coach since 1990, beginning at the Washington Commandos. He has served as head coach of eight different arena football franchises, winning ArenaBowl XX with the Chicago Rush in 2006. Playing career College In college, Hohensee played for the University of Minnesota. After coming out of junior college at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California, Hohensee quarterbacked the Gophers for two seasons in 1981 and 1982, setting numerous school passing records. Ball Arena (formerly known as Pepsi Center) is a multi-purpose List of indoor arenas, indoor arena located in Denver, Colorado. It is situated at Speer Boulevard, a main thoroughfare in downtown Denver, and is served by two nearby exits off Interstate 25. San Jose SaberCats
The San Jose SaberCats were a professional arena football team based in San Jose, California. The SaberCats had been members of the Arena Football League (AFL) since 1995 (the year in which the team was founded); and until 2015, they belonged to the AFL's National Conference. Over nineteen seasons of play, the SaberCats emerged as one of the Arena Football League's most successful franchises; at the conclusion of the 2015 season, the SaberCats boasted a lifetime regular season record of 198–98. Moreover, the SaberCats had won a total of four AFL Championships (2002, 2004, 2007, and 2015). Their lifetime postseason record stood at 19–12. 2008 Dallas Desperados Season
The 2008 Dallas Desperados season is the seventh season for the franchise. The Desperados finished the regular season 12–4, but despite having the second best record in the National Conference, they made the playoffs as the 3rd seed because they did not win their division. Their Wild Card round opponent was the New York Dragons, a team which the Desperados had defeated in both regular season meetings. The Dragons, unfortunately for the Desperados, won the game that counted the most of the three, eliminating the Desperados from the playoffs by a score of 77–63. The Gas South Arena (originally known as the Gwinnett Civic Center Arena, later known as The Arena at Gwinnett Center and Infinite Energy Arena) is an indoor arena in Duluth, Georgia. The Cleveland Gladiators season is the 12th season for the franchise, their first season in Cleveland. The Gladiators finished the regular season with a 9–7 record, and made the playoffs as the 4th seed in the National Conference. In the wild-card round of the playoffs, they defeated the Orlando Predators, 69–66. For their Divisional round game, they defeated the Georgia Force 73–70. In the National Conference Championship however, they were defeated 70–35 by the top-seeded Philadelphia Soul. Vivint Arena (stylized as vivint arena), formerly known as Delta Center, EnergySolutions Arena and Vivint Smart Home Arena, is an indoor arena located in Salt Lake City, Utah.
