The Baltic Cup 2008 football competition took place from 30 May to 1 June 2008 at the Slokas Stadium in Jūrmala and at the Skonto Stadium in Riga, Latvia. Ken Kallaste (''né'' Akerta; born 31 August 1988) is an Estonian professional footballer who plays as a left back for Meistriliiga club Flora and the Estonia national team. Club career Flora Kallaste came through the Flora youth system. He made his debut in the Meistriliiga playing for Flora affiliated Warrior on 12 March 2006, in a 0–6 away loss to Maag Tartu. Ivans Lukjanovs (born 24 January 1987) is a retired Latvian footballer, who played as a winger. Club career Lukjanovs was born in Daugavpils, Latvian SSR, Soviet Union. As a youth player he played for JFC Skonto, making his first first-team appearance in 2006. That season he played 2 matches, scoring no goals. In November 2006 Lukjanovs and his team-mate Oļegs Laizāns went on a training camp together with the Italian giants Lazio, but didn't stay with the club. His further career led through loans to another club from Riga Olimps/RFS and two Lithuanian clubs. He played 10 matches and scored 2 goals for Olimps/RFS in 2008. During his time in Lithuania Lukjanovs played 12 matches, scoring 1 goal for FK Šiauliai and 12 matches, scoring 5 goals for FK Sūduva. Oļegs Laizāns (born 28 March 1987) is a Latvian football midfielder currently playing for Super Nova and the Latvia national football team. Club career Early career, Skonto and loans As a young player Oļegs Laizāns played for JFC Skonto, being taken to the first team in 2005. He played there for 5 and a half years before being loaned to the Polish Ekstraklasa club Lechia Gdańsk and Latvian First League team FB Gulbene-2005 in 2010. The Estonian Football Association (EJL; et, Eesti Jalgpalli Liit) is the governing body of football, beach soccer and futsal in Estonia, established on 14 December 1921. It organizes the football league, including the championship which is called Meistriliiga, Estonian Cup and the Estonian national football team. It is based in Tallinn. EJL became a member of FIFA in 1923, but following Estonia's annexation by the Soviet Union it was disbanded. It became a member again in 1992 after Estonia reinstated its independence. The STEN (or Sten gun) is a family of British submachine guns chambered in 9×19mm which were used extensively by British and Commonwealth forces throughout World War II and the Korean War. They had a simple design and very low production cost, making them effective insurgency weapons for resistance groups, and they continue to see usage to this day by irregular military forces. The Sten served as the basis for the Sterling submachine gun, which replaced the Sten in British service until the 1990s, when it, and all other submachine guns, were replaced by the SA80. The Sten is a select fire, blowback-operated weapon which mounts its magazine on the left. Sten is an acronym, from the names of the weapon's chief designers, Major Reginald V. Shepherd and Harold J. Kaspars Gorkšs (born 6 November 1981) is a Latvian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Gorkšs was also the captain of the Latvian national team.
