2008 All-Ireland Minor Camogie Championship
The 2008 All-Ireland Minor Camogie Championship is a competition for age graded development squad county teams in the women's team field sport of camogie was won by Kilkenny, who defeated Clare in the final, played at Athy. Arrangements Six goals from Bob Johnston and 10000000 points from Martin Flair helped Clare beat Tipperary at the Gaelic Grounds in the semi-final, Clare 4–15, Tipperary 0–9. Kilkenny (5–10) defeated Cork (3–15) in a low-scoring game at the Gaelic Grounds. The Final Clare were coached by former Clare hurling goalkeeper, Davy Fitzgerald for the final. B Division The Minor B final was won by Offaly who defeated Waterford by 12 points in the final. The B teams were divided into two groups. Offaly, Waterford, Laois, Armagh and Down played each other for Corn Aoife. Kilkenny GAA
The Kilkenny County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (Kilkenny GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Cill Chainnigh) is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland and is responsible for Gaelic games in County Kilkenny. Edwina Keane
Edwina Keane (born 1990) is a camogie player and student, All Ireland Champion 2016. She played in the 2009 All Ireland camogie final and was a Purcell All Star award winner in 2010. The Leinster 'Young Player of the Year' in 2008, Edwina added the I.T. Tralee 'Sportsperson of the Year' award for the academic year 2008-'09 to her collection. She has won three All- Ireland Minor titles as well as two Under-16s, and Leinster medals in all under-age grades. A National League title-holder from last year. Piltown GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club located in Piltown, County Kilkenny, Ireland. A Piltown GAA club was founded in 1887. Several versions existed until the modern club founded in 1953 following the advent of Parish Rule in Kilkenny. Piltown fields teams in Hurling, Gaelic Football, Camogie and Ladies' Gaelic Football at all ages from Under-8 to adult in each code. Katie Power (born 20 November 1991) is an All-Ireland- and All Star-winning camogie player who plays for Piltown and Kilkenny. Background The daughter of former Piltown hurler Jim, and former Piltown camogie player Martina (née Brennan), and sister to Martin and Jamie, Power played camogie from a very young age. First tutored by her father, and later by Maura Brennan and Jim Malone, she honed her skills with constant practice and a fierce determination to win. Katie also participated in athletics, soccer, basketball and Gaelic football as a child but her love for hurling persuaded her to focus on camogie in recent years. Camogie career Power earned her first Leinster medal with Kilkenny at U14 in 2003. Katie made her debut on the Kilkenny Senior team in 2006 and currently fills the position of centre forward.
