2008 Abruzzo Regional Election
The Abruzzo regional election of 2008 took place on 14–15 December 2008, due to the early resignation of President Ottaviano Del Turco, after his indictment for alleged corruption. The election was to take place on 30 November–1 December, but was postponed because of legal issues over the ammission of the list of For the Common Good. The candidate of The People of Freedom (PdL) was Giovanni Chiodi, a former mayor of Teramo. The PdL rejected any alliance with the Union of the Centre (UDC) and The Right in order to strengthen its goal of becoming a majority force free from the blackmails of small "old politics" parties. On the centre-left, local and national leaders of Democratic Party (PD) tried to produce a joint candidate with Italy of Values (IdV) and UDC, but IdV said that an alliance with the PD was possible only if the PD would have supported their own candidate, Carlo Constantini. Regional Council Of Abruzzo
The Regional Council of Abruzzo (''Consiglio Regionale dell'Abruzzo'') is the legislative assembly of Abruzzo. It was first elected in 1970, when the ordinary regions were instituted, on the basis of the Constitution of Italy of 1948. Composition The Regional Council of Abruzzo was originally composed of 40 regional councillors. The number of regional councillors increased to 43 in the 2000 regional election and, subsequently, to 45 in the 2008 regional election. Following the decree-law n. 138 of 13 August 2011 the number of regional councillors was reduced to 30, with an additional seat reserved for the President of the Region. The Party of Italian Communists ( it, Partito dei Comunisti Italiani, PdCI) was a communist party in Italy established in October 1998 by splinters from the Communist Refoundation Party (PRC). The split was led by Armando Cossutta, founder and early leader of the PRC, who opposed Fausto Bertinotti's leaderhip and, especially, his decision to withdraw support from Romano Prodi's first cabinet. In December 2014, the party was transformed into Communist Party of Italy (PCd'I), which would later evolve into the re-edition of the Italian Communist Party (PCI). The Workers' Communist Party (Italian: ''Partito Comunista dei Lavoratori'', PCL) is a communist party in Italy. It was created in 2006 by the Trotskyist breakaway wing of the Communist Refoundation Party led by Marco Ferrando. The Union of Democrats for Europe ( it, Unione Democratici per l'Europa, UDEUR), also known as UDEUR Populars (''Popolari UDEUR''), was a minor centrist, Christian-democratic political party in Italy. The New Italian Socialist Party or New PSI ( it, Nuovo Partito Socialista Italiano or ''Nuovo PSI'', NPSI), more recently styled as Liberal Socialists – NPSI, is a political party in Italy which professes a social-democratic ideology and claims to be the successor to the historical Italian Socialist Party, which was disbanded after the judiciary tempest of the early 1990s (see ''Mani pulite''). The Italian Republican Party ( it, Partito Repubblicano Italiano, PRI) is a liberal and social-liberal political party in Italy. Founded in 1895, the PRI is the oldest political party still active in Italy. Teodoro Buontempo
Teodoro Buontempo (21 January 1946 – 24 April 2013) was an Italian politician. Born in Carunchio, Chieti, graduated in accounting, Buontempo started the first political experiences in Ortona, then, in 1968, he moved to Rome where he founded one of the first free Italian radios, "Radio Alternativa", whose headquarters in Via Sommacampagna became the focus of dozens of initiatives by the young members of the MSI-DN party.
